PURPOSE

1.001 The aim of this document, which is an integral part of the ORDER, is to provide minimum requirements for the packaging, marking and shipping of the CARGO required for the execution of the ORDER, ensuring that it arrives without damage or loss to SITE.

1.002 The full liability of an appropriate packaging, marking and shipping to ensure the arrival of the goods in optimal conditions to the SITE shall be borne by SELLER, as per the SELLER’s scope defined in the ORDER.

1.003 This document provides the minimum standards for the correct manufacture of suitable packaging solutions

for any method of transport.

1.004 These instructions have taken European standards (Spain and Germany) as its ground-base. For additional

information, refer to the following documents:

a) NEF-ES-001-09 FAPROMA.

b) HPE German Federal Association for Wooden Packaging, Pallets and Export Packaging.

In case of any discrepancy between the above listed documents and this document, the requirements from these instructions shall govern.

2 DEFINITIONS AND ACRONYMS

2.001 Capitalized words and expressions in the wording correspond with definitions. All definitions and acronyms used in this document are defined in the Annex A of the PURCHASE CONDITIONS and shall be applicable to this document accordingly.

3

PROJECT LOCAL CLIMATIC/WEATHER CONDITIONS

3.001 This section describes the PROJECT location yearly weather conditions and any conditioning local circumstances due to climate that could influence logistics operations throughout the PROJECT execution such as seasonal restrictions.

3.002 SELLER shall take into account this information in the performance of the activities under its scope.

4 GENERAL PROVISIONS

4.001 SELLER is required to read this document for packaging, marking and shipping instructions carefully, since

SELLER shall be held responsible for its compliance.

4.002 SELLER shall be held liable for any consequences arising for non-observance of these instructions, including, but not limited to, dead freight or demurrages or loss or damage of goods, due to SELLER’s delays and/or faulty or deficient packaging or marking.

4.003 Measurement units used in this document, unless otherwise expressly indicated in this document or specified in any document forming part of the ORDER for a particular project, shall be in the metric system.

4.004 All SHIPPING DOCUMENTATION shall be issued in the language defined in the ORDER and in any case, always in English, fully in accordance with instructions below. Otherwise, they will be returned to SELLER for correction, which may delay shipment and generate additional expenses.

4.005 Any additional expenses incurred by BUYER or OWNER resulting from SELLER’s negligence, or failure to

comply with the following instructions, shall be back charged to SELLER’s account.

4.006 These instructions are general and mandatory.

4.007 Observance of these minimum requirements does not constitute a limitation to SELLER’s responsibilities

regarding the proper and timely packaging, marking, loading and shipping of the goods.

4.008 SELLER hereby agrees to flow down any provisions of this document to its SELLER’S PROVIDERS, which may be necessary to SELLER to comply with its obligations and to the proper implementation of the ORDER.

5

SELLER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

5.001 Goods shall not be packed before the issuing of BUYER’s IRC, authorizing packaging, or before the

BUYER’s waiver of inspection or before the BUYER’s waiver of inspection.

5.002 Upon any lack or deficiency in the packaging and/or marking of the goods, SELLER shall have seven (7) days’ time after receiving BUYER’s request for remedy, to take suitable repair measures. Once this period has expired, BUYER shall have the right, without further formalities, to remedy the issue, back-charging SELLER for any costs incurred. Inspection of packaging and marking may be carried out, either by BUYER directly, or by any appointed third party. If packaging and/or marking repair measures or repacking are necessary, and, in order to get the RN, SELLER shall send photographs of the goods properly packaged and marked.

5.003 Should the packaging and marking at physical or photographical inspection not be found in accordance with these instructions, SELLER shall, if deemed necessary by BUYER, remake the packaging and/or the marking at its own cost.

5.004 Also, if the packaging and/or marking provided by SELLER were found defective or inadequate when CARGO is collected by BUYER before the shipment, BUYER shall be entitled to request SELLER’s intervention or to carry out necessary repairs at SELLER’s expense.

5.005 RN shall be provided by BUYER, followed by a coordination between SELLER and BUYER, and is

necessary to start any arrangements for collection and transport of the goods.

5.006 SELLER’s own experience and practice shall determine any improvements to these instructions to ensure CARGO safety. Fulfilment of these minimum requirements does not constitute a limitation of SELLER’s responsibility for any loss and/or damage caused by the lack of or improper packaging and/or marking.

5.007 SELLER has the responsibility of using a package adjusted to the equipment size, always avoiding any loss and/or damage caused by the lack of or improper packaging. For that reason, BUYER reserves the right to reject any packaging which involves unnecessary transport costs and any improper packaging and/or marking. The liability of the loss and/or damages shall be borne by SELLER, and any delay or cost related to the mentioned issues shall be assumed by SELLER. The following figures show an example of improper packaging.

5.008 SELLER shall comply with the present instructions, as it will be held responsible for its compliance. Any additional expenses incurred by BUYER or OWNER resulting from SELLER’s failure to comply with the following instructions shall be back charged to SELLER’s account.

5.009 SELLER shall be held liable for any consequences arising for non-observance of these instructions,

including, but not limited, to dead freight or demurrages or loss or damage of the CARGO.

5.010 SELLER shall be fully responsible for the performance, acts, failures and omissions, of all its SELLER’S PROVIDERS, regardless that sub-suppliers and subcontractors had been in advance approved by BUYER.

5.011 In relation to SELLER’s obligations based on the delivery terms (loading of containers, photographs, customs clearance, etc.) agreed under the PURCHASE ORDER, for information, see Annex E of the PURCHASE CONDITIONS where obligations of both SELLER and BUYER are explained.

6

LOGISTICS DOCUMENTS

6.001 The following documents detailed in this section have to be provided by SELLER in a timely manner, before

and after shipment takes place.

6.002 In any case, and notwithstanding the above, at BUYER’s request, SELLER shall, where applicable, in a timely manner, provide to or render assistance in obtaining any documents and information, including security-related information, that BUYER needs for the import of the CARGO and/or for its transport to SITE.

6.003 SELLER shall bear the consequences of not providing the documentation on the agreed/required issue

date.

6.1 DOCUMENTS TO BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO SHIPMENT

6.1.001 SELLER has the responsibility of delivering the following documents (according to SELLER’s scope)

before the shipment, on or before the dates established in the ORDER.

6.1.002 Original approved packing lists, certificates and SHIPPING INVOICES to be sent to BUYER only, to the

designated personnel and in soft copy by e-mail.

DOCUMENTS INCLUDED IN VDDR

6.1.1.1

PRELIMINARY PACKING LIST

6.1.1.1.001 SELLER shall provide on the agreed date between the PARTIES an estimation of weight and volume

of the SUPPLY by means of a Preliminary Packing List.

This document is included in the VDDR with codification LIS-0024 and title Preliminary Cargo List.

6.1.1.1.002 The Preliminary PL issued by SELLER shall provide at least the information shown in the format included in the ANNEX D.1-10651 and, if possible, the format shall be used, according to the type of material/equipment of the SUPPLY.

6.1.1.2

PACKAGING & MARKING GUIDELINES FROM SELLER

6.1.1.2.001 SELLER shall submit its own Packaging & Marking Guidelines on the agreed date between the PARTIES. SELLER’s experience and practice shall determine any improvement to the present instructions to ensure CARGO safety.

6.1.1.2.002 This document is included in the VDDR with codification PRC-0012 and title Packing and

Transportation Procedure.

6.1.1.2.003 BUYER shall receive the document, revise it and indicate important deviations that need to be

corrected before document can be approved.

6.1.1.2.004 If, due to any circumstance, the SELLER’s procedure is not provided as requested or SELLER does not adhere to the applicable requirements from present document, SELLER shall be requested to send through VDDL either of the following in substitution for its procedure, signed and stamped with their letterhead:

a) a letter stating that SELLER does not have an internal procedure and therefore they shall

strictly adhere to the applicable requirements from present document, or

b) a letter stating that SELLER does not want to adhere to the applicable requirements from present document and SELLER will apply their own guidelines, therefore, becoming itself responsible of any loss and/or damage to the material appeared due to lack of or incorrect or insufficient packaging and/or marking during SUPPLY CHAIN.

6.1.1.3

TRANSPORT DRAWING

6.1.1.3.001 In order to obtain necessary permits, select the handling and transport means and for safety reasons, the Transport Drawings for H/O LOADS shall always be applicable and are to be made available to BUYER.

6.1.1.3.002 For each HEAVY AND/OR OVERSIZED LOAD, SELLER shall submit a Preliminary Transport

Drawing on the agreed date between the PARTIES.

6.1.1.3.003 SELLER shall update the Transport Lifting/LASHING Drawings with final details, at least, fifteen (15) days prior to the delivery of the corresponding CARGO, in order to make final arrangements regarding transportation.

6.1.1.3.004 Transport Drawings shall clearly indicate (see example in ANNEX D.4-10651):

a) Weight and dimensions of the equipment.

b) CoG.

c) Lifting lugs and/or sling locations (including a detailed calculation analysis).

d) Size of lugs.

e) Width of the sling protectors to be used.

f) Saddle material used.

g) Saddle location & number of saddles.

h) Saddle width, height and weight (per saddle).

i) Any specific transportation and lifting requirements and precautions.

j) Lashing points.

6.1.1.3.005 This document is included in the VDDR with codification PLD-0008 and title Drawings for Equipment

Transport Preparation.

6.1.1.3.006 Regardless of whether the size and/or the weight of the equipment are within the limits of CONVENTIONAL LOAD (in gauge) described in the definition of this term, Transport Drawings are mandatory and to be sent complying with the format or in a similar format as the example in ANNEX D.4-10651, should any or all of, but not limited to, the following circumstances concur:

a) CoG is displaced from the geometrical.

b) Equipment is feeble and tubular components are to be considered during handling.

c) Manholes and other weighing elements are likely to rotate during handling.

d) Assembled skids.

6.1.1.3.007 Along with what specifically indicated above for H/O LOADS, all the provisions and instructions indicated for CONVENTIONAL LOADS are also to be observed, during the preparation of packaging, marking and shipping of any H/O LOAD.

6.1.1.3.008 Should any supplements to the PURCHASE ORDER imply a revision of DELIVERY DATES and/or

involve changes in the equipment, VDDR rules will apply accordingly.

6.1.1.4

CUSTOMS CLASSIFICATION

6.1.1.4.001 SELLER shall provide on the agreed date between the PARTIES this document duly filled providing information required for the correct classification of the CARGO from a Customs point of view, stating HS Codes.

6.1.1.4.002 This document is included in the VDDR with codification LIS-0022 and title Customs Classification

(see example in ANNEX D.2-10651).

6.1.1.5

LIST OF HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS GOODS

6.1.1.5.001 For logistics purposes, in the event that any hazardous material (as classified according to IATA-

DGR and IMO) is part of the SUPPLY, SELLER shall inform BUYER.

6.1.1.5.002 SELLER shall confirm whether their SUPPLY includes chemicals of any kind (hazardous or not

hazardous) via email within seven (7) days from the EFFECTIVE DATE.

6.1.1.5.003 If there are chemicals included in the SUPPLY (e.g. acid for batteries, paints, lubricants, reactive strips for analysis equipment, perlites, absorbent material, etc.), the confirmation shall include the last updated revision of MSDS for said material.

6.1.1.5.004 If not, SELLER shall provide the List of the Hazardous and Dangerous Goods with the MSDSs on

the agreed date between the PARTIES.

6.1.1.5.005 If, at the time of shipment, hazardous materials are part of the CARGO and no previous notification has been provided by SELLER, BUYER shall hold SELLER responsible for all the possible delay in obtaining transport and import permits related to the hazardous materials.

6.1.1.5.006 This document is included in the VDDR with codification LIS-0029 and title List of Hazardous Goods

(see example in ANNEX D.2-10651).

6.1.1.6

METHOD OF STATEMENT FOR TRANSPORTATION

6.1.1.6.001 If SELLER’s scope includes a cargo with a weight equal or above to 50 MTON (including packaging and transport saddles) and/or its transportation (partial or total), SELLER shall submit its own Method of Statement for Transportation on the agreed date between the PARTIES.

6.1.1.6.002 This document is included in the VDDR with codification PRC–0004 and title Procedure for

Transportation of Heavy Cargo.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF CARGO READINESS TO OBTAIN RELEASE

NOTE

6.1.2.001 The following documents are the documents pertaining to CARGO for each shipment that SELLER

shall send to BUYER to obtain the RELEASE NOTE.

6.1.2.1

MASTER PACKING LISTS AND UNITARY PACKING LISTS

6.1.2.1.001 Once the CARGO has been packed, SELLER shall submit its Packing Lists with the detailed and exact information as required in the formats in ANNEX D.1-10651, ensuring that the following data are included:

a) Consignee;

b) PROJECT Name;

c) BUYER’s ORDER Number;

d) SELLER’s Name;

e) Type of each package (box, crate, bundle, skid/saddle, …);

f) Package Number;

g) Net & Gross Weights per package;

h) Dimensions (in cm) and volume (in m3) per package;

i)

Item and/or Tag Number as per the ORDER;

j) Clear and detailed list of all contents of each package and quantity of units identified by the

ORDER Item Numbers;

k) In case of spare parts, a detailed description of items and quantity.

6.1.2.1.002 The Master Packing List shall show a line per each package belonging to the related CARGO.

6.1.2.1.003 One (1) Unitary Packing List shall be provided per each package contained in the Master Packing

List.

6.1.2.1.004 Each Unitary Packing List shall show all the items included in the related package.

6.1.2.1.005 One (1) copy of each PL shall be included inside the package.

6.1.2.1.006 SELLER shall guarantee that SELLER’S PROVIDERS will use the approved formats and follow the

related requirements mentioned above depending on the nature of the CARGO.

6.1.2.1.007 SELLER shall use the appropriate templates for each type of materials as included in ANNEX D.1-

6.1.2.2

PICTURES OF CARGO

6.1.2.2.001 SELLER shall provide pictures showing a general view of the CARGO, some examples of the packaging and also their shipping marks in the approved formats (see ANNEX D.1), all of them clearly visible.

6.1.2.3

WEIGHT CERTIFICATE

6.1.2.3.001 If SELLER’s scope includes CARGO with a unitary weight equal or above 50 MTON (including packaging and transport saddles), SELLER shall submit a Weight Certificate after FINAL INSPECTION and packaging have been performed.

6.1.2.3.002 This certificate shall include the final dimensions and weight of the equipment (including packaging

and transport saddles).

6.1.2.3.003 BUYER’s involvement in the SELLER´s quality control activities relevant to the Weight measurement and related certification process will be defined in the Inspection Activity Plan included in the ORDER. Such involvement shall be deemed WITNESS POINT, as minimum. SELLER shall include such activities in its Inspection and Test Plan.

6.1.2.3.004 No equipment, package units or modules shall be shipped without the corresponding Weight

Certificate.

6.1.2.3.005 This certificate shall be official (performed by a qualified company) or, if performed by SELLER, it shall be done using load cells, dynamometers or cranes that have been certified within the last year since the time the measurement takes place.

6.1.2.3.006 Any delay or any transportation extra cost caused by any incorrect detail in the Weight Certificate

shall be borne by SELLER.

6.1.2.4

DUAL USE MATERIAL DOCUMENTATION/CERTIFICATE

6.1.2.4.001 A Dual Use Material is a material/equipment/item subject of being used both for Military and Civil

Purposes.

6.1.2.4.002 If any item of the SUPPLY is of this dual nature, a MDDU Certificate for Export shall be issued, in

the Country of Origin, by the concerned authorities.

6.1.2.4.003 In order to get said certificate, SELLER may or may not (depending on each Country of Origin’s regulation) need a letter from OWNER accepting the dual nature of the CARGO and accepting to receive it in the COUNTRY. In such case, BUYER will assist SELLER to get such letter from OWNER.

6.1.2.4.004 SELLER shall confirm whether its material is subject to Export Licenses in each Country of Origin,

or not, via email within seven (7) days from the EFFECTIVE DATE.

6.1.2.4.005 Should it be, in same communication, SELLER shall:

a) Specify under which epigraph of the Governing Law/List (Council Regulation-EU- Nr. 428/2009 and/or, EC Nr.1334/2000, US Department of Commerce – Bureau of Industry and Security, List of Control Items, etc., UN/WTO updated Lists of Controlled Items, etc.), their materials, alloys or final products are dealt with.

b) Provide a list with the possible documents (END USER Statements, etc.), including a template or format for guidance, which may be required eventually, prior to Export, from OWNER, for assistance, if any.

c) Provide the estimated time of approval from the authorities at concerned Country(ies) of

Origin(s).

6.2 DOCUMENTS TO BE PROVIDED AFTER SHIPMENT

6.2.001 SELLER has the responsibility of delivering the following listed documents (according to SELLER’s

scope) before the shipments, For any other transport means, BUYER will indicate the issue period.

SHIPPING INVOICE

6.2.1.001 The SHIPPING INVOICE shall include the following minimum information:

a) SELLER’s Company Details;

b) ORDER Number;

c) BUYER’s Shipment Number;

d) HS Code Number;

e) Unitary Price of each material or equipment; and

f) further details that can be requested later on during the execution of the PROJECT.

6.2.1.002 If applicable, BUYER may request the SHIPPING INVOICE stamped and signed by SELLER, and

attested by the corresponding Chamber of Commerce or pertinent Authority at SELLER’s cost.

CERTIFICATE OF PREFERENTIAL ORIGIN

6.2.2.001 Under this general definition the following documents could be considered:

a) Certificate of Origin,

b) EUR 1,

c) ATR, or

d) other particular trade agreement certifications such as NAFTA.

6.2.2.002 Preferential origin allows goods to benefit from reduced or nil customs duties when they are imported from THIRD COUNTRIES. These privileges are specified in the preferential agreements that a country maintains with a large number of THIRD COUNTRIES or in measures that are decided unilaterally regarding certain THIRD COUNTRIES.

6.2.2.003 The preferential origin of the goods shall be demonstrated by a certificate from the Customs authorities of the exporting country that shall be presented at the time of customs clearance. This certificate of preferential origin allows to benefit from reduced or nil customs duties rates on importation. The type of certificate to be produced is determined by each preferential agreement.

6.2.2.004 If the INCOTERM of the PURCHASE ORDER determines that SELLER has the responsibility of issuing a Certificate of Preferential Origin, SELLER shall complete the document following BUYER’s instructions and SELLER is not allowed to issue it without BUYER’s confirmation.

6.2.2.005 If applicable, BUYER may request the Certificate of Preferential Origin be stamped by the

corresponding local Chamber of Commerce, at SELLER’s cost.

LIST OF PACKAGES PER CONTAINER

6.2.3.001 When loading of CARGO inside containers is included in the SELLER’s scope, a list of packages

loaded in each container shall be provided (in Excel format) to BUYER.

BILL OF LADING

6.2.4.001 A Bill of Lading is a document issued by a Carrier (or its agent) to acknowledge receipt of CARGO for

shipment.

6.2.4.002 If the INCOTERM agreed in the PURCHASE ODER determines that SELLER has the responsibility of obtaining the B/L, SELLER shall ensure the B/L has been issued by the Carrier or its agents following BUYER’s instructions to be provided in due time.

INSURANCE CERTIFICATE

6.2.5.001 A Transport Insurance Certificate is a document issued by an insurance company/broker that is used to verify the existence of insurance coverage under specific conditions during the SUPPLY CHAIN, granted to individuals listed in such certificate.

6.2.5.002 If the terms agreed in the ORDER determines that SELLER has the responsibility of obtaining this certificate, SELLER shall ensure it has been issued by the Insurers following BUYER’s instructions to be provided in due time.

6.2.6.001 SELLER has the duty of delivering all the documents requested by BUYER related to shipment that are necessary for the correct development of the PROJECT, including those ones specified in this document.

7 GENERAL PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS, TYPES AND PREPARATION FOR

SHIPMENT

7.001 Packaging shall be suitable for any means of transport, whether it is sea freight (conventional or container),

airfreight, road or railway.

7.002 SELLER shall be responsible for protecting all shipments during the whole duration of the SUPPLY against all risks (including, but not limited to, harsh weather; humidity; corrosion; shocks to machined, polished or vulnerable parts; loading accidents or storage constraints). This shall include cleaning, painting, lubrication, application of a protective film, disassembly of fragile components, anchoring or fastening for the purpose of protecting internal parts from vibrations or shocks and any additional requirements inherent to the agreement upon shipping method, even if shipment is not the responsibility of SELLER.

7.003 The following table indicates the recommended acceleration forces depending on the mode of transport.

7.004 Each type of cargo shall be packed taking into consideration the following information:

a) Protection requirements of the cargo to be packaged;

b) The hygroscopic properties of the cargo;

c) Means of transport to be used;

d) Transport route and duration, storage/ stop-over points and trans-shipment;

e) Required anti-corrosion measures;

f) CoG and weight issues.

7.005 The packaging shall protect materials/equipment from shocks and weather adverse conditions, environmental and/or marine agents and/or air transport requirements, preventing any damage and corrosion of their contents and loss during transport. In addition, the packaging and marking shall resist the various rough handling operations since picking up of the goods up to the final delivery to SITE.

7.006 It shall be SELLER’s duty and responsibility to supply BUYER with the necessary storage and maintenance instructions during the bidding stage, before issuance of the ORDER. Any damage incurred due to incorrect or missing storage and maintenance instructions, shall be at SELLER’s charge. For material with protective coating, SELLER shall indicate the duration of the protection and shall also give instructions for a prolonged period of preservation of the goods, in compliance with PROJECT specifications and BUYER’s requirements.

7.007 SELLER shall accomplish with all requirements of INCOTERM agreed in the ORDER as per Annex E of

PURCHASE CONDITIONS.

7.008 According to requirements provided by BUYER during bidding stage, SELLER shall provide information related to the specific material preparations and internal packaging and monitoring systems needed for each particular material, in order to be agreed between the PARTIES and to be included in SELLER’s commercial offer.

7.009 All specific material preparations and internal packaging and monitoring systems (see section 7.1) are optional and are not necessary for transport purposes. Their intention is the preservation and control of the equipment/material during the SUPPLY CHAIN and their need is subject to Engineering considerations and Quality requirements.

7.010 Notwithstanding the above, the responsibility of providing the adequate packaging and monitoring systems

shall be borne by SELLER.

7.1 MATERIAL PREPARATIONS FOR A CORRECT AND SECURE PACKAGING

7.1.001 Preliminary preparation of CARGO may be required in order to counteract potential stresses during transport. SELLER shall guarantee that the preliminary protections measures do not have negative consequences for the CARGO to be transported.

7.1.002 After FINAL INSPECTION, SELLER shall coat all unpainted machinery components and/or surfaces with suitable corrosion inhibitor, easily removable without polluting the environment. All machined surfaces shall be protected by Tectyl 506 or equivalent product, being duly certified.

7.1.003 SELLER shall thoroughly clean and dry all unpainted machinery components, both internally and

externally. Dirt, grease, scale, welding spatter and any other foreign matter shall be removed.

7.1.004 Metal gaskets, rings, bolts and nuts shall be greased.

7.1.005 Connections and, in general, all openings shall be adequately protected and plugged to prevent moisture infiltration. Machined / un-machined pipe ends and threaded openings shall be duly protected.

7.1.006 All packed goods shall be properly lashed and secured inside the packaging to prevent movement during transit. Loose and moving parts within equipment (i.e. drawers in cabinets, rotors in drivers, header boxes in air-cooled exchangers) may need to be temporally secured while in transit. Clear warnings shall be indicated on items to remove all securing devices before start-up. Such devices shall not degrade or damage the material.

7.1.007 Highly sensitive parts (instruments, electric boxes and others) that might interfere with the packaging, shall be protected by cushioning material in order to prevent damage. Accessories mounted in areas where there is risk of damage shall be disassembled and packed separately.

7.1.008 Polyethylene sheeting (treated against the effects of sunlight and heat) with suitable thickness (minimum 0.2 mm) shall always be provided to protect material from rainwater or splashes. Said sheeting shall be left open at the bottom to allow aeration. Polyethylene sheeting cannot be used for protecting against humidity.

7.1.009 For highly sensitive equipment subject to deterioration by moisture, such as control panels, DCS, electrical instruments, oleo-dynamic machinery, pumps, compressors and the like, a thermo-welded barrier (in accordance with MIL B 131 F class 1 standard or corresponding regulation) shall be used and filled with dehydrating product (approximately ½ unit x m2 of package) in order to keep the humidity rate lower than the acceptable one for at least one (1) year safeguarding the equipment from oxidation, rust and any other environmental factor.

7.1.010 De-hydrant product bags shall be hung inside the wrapping and not to be placed on the floor. A partial

vacuum shall be produced inside the barrier bag in order to avoid moisture penetration.

7.1.011 Barrier bag holes corresponding to equipment fixing bolts, shall be sealed using resistant rubber washers.

7.1.012 Humidity indicators shall be applied to the thermo-welded barrier bag and shall be inspected through a

window provided in the packaging wall.

7.1.013 Shock sensors (2 pcs) shall also be fixed to the packaging walls. To be placed in Main Equipment (not all packages). Upon receipt of Preliminary Packing List, BUYER will indicate which items should have them.

7.1.014 Sharp edges, protrusions and similar shall be lined with soft material to avoid tearing the protective

wrapping.

7.1.015 The packages shall be fabricated to reduce volume, without compromising the function of the packaging

itself, always thinking in the transport mode to be used.

7.1.016 Plastic or steel boxes shall not be used unless authorized by BUYER.

7.1.017 Material pertaining to two (2) or more different material requisitions shall not be packed together. Grouping materials into single packages is only allowed for materials of the same category or type (i.e. valves with valves, flanges with flanges, etc.). Materials belonging to the same order, but with different destinations or delivery points, shall be packed separately.

7.1.018 Spare parts or SPECIAL TOOLS shall be packed separately and shall be specifically marked indicating

“Spare Parts” or “Special Tools”, to make its segregation easier at the SITE.

7.1.019 Each type of spare parts shall be packed separately from materials belonging to the main item(s) of the ORDER and per type of equipment, unless otherwise agreed with BUYER. In any case, spare parts shall be shipped at the same time than their associated main item.

7.1.020 Chemical and hazardous products and catalysts not classified as products mentioned before, shall be

packed individually and considering their compatibility with other chemicals/hazardous ones.

7.1.021 All packaging material used shall be biologically decomposable. Packaging material which endangers or pollutes the environment is prohibited and, very specially, the wooden-made ones, shall comply with FAO regulations on these regards.

7.1.022 These packaging instructions applies only to material/equipment for multimodal transport (on/off shore). BUYER shall have the right to determine, based on the weather conditions and SITE and warehouse locations, if packaging for inland transport (truck/wagon) does not need to be SEAWORTHY PACKAGING.

7.1.023 In any case, packaging structures shall be designed to be stackable and suitable to be handled, loaded

and unloaded with crane or forklift.

7.1.024 The use of containers does not dispense from SEAWORTHY PACKAGING requirements. The

material/equipment shall in any case be packed for long term storage.

7.1.025 In the event that the goods would be delivered in SELLER’s own sea containers, these shall have updated

CSC and ISO certificates.

7.1.026 Depending on the type of materials and/or equipment to be transported, the applicable pre-treatments

shall be considered as indicated in this document.

PARTIAL DISMANTLING OF CARGO TO BE PACKED

7.1.1.001 BUYER shall have the right to request SELLER to partially dismantle the CARGO for transportation

purposes, at SELLER’s cost.

7.1.1.002 In any case, CARGO shall only be dismantled by SELLER after BUYER’s approval.

7.1.1.003 Dismantling of the CARGO may be necessary in order to:

a) Enable handling of the packaged CARGO.

b) Reduce the volume to be packaged.

c) Protect protruding or fragile construction components.

d) Avoid damage to the packing by the CARGO itself.

PADDING OF FRAGILE PARTS

7.1.2.001 Often, cargoes as electronic products, switching modules and micro mechanical products, are particularly sensitive to mechanical stresses during transport. They shall therefore be protected by SELLER against damage through knocks, jolts or vibrations by using suitable padding.

7.1.2.002 Padding can also be used to guard protective films against perforation and friction damage caused by

sharp corners of the packaged cargo or other protruding elements.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR PACKAGED CARGO

7.1.3.001 If there is any risk of twisting, bending or breaking due to mechanical transport loads, the CARGO shall be supported or braced to make it suitable for a safe transport or alternatively and, in agreement with BUYER, it shall be disassembled by SELLER.

SECURING MOVABLE PARTS

7.1.4.001 Movable parts shall be secured by LASHING down or using wedges and pads. These shall be fixed to

the CARGO before packaging.

7.1.4.002 If the integrity of the goods becomes jeopardized, the disassembled parts shall be packed separately. In any other case, disassembled parts, shall be padded and stored firmly against the packaging good or inside the internal packaging area.

CLEANING

7.1.5.001 Material and equipment shall be free of manufacturing aids, production residues, corrosion and other

soiling agents.

7.1.5.002 Cooling aggregates and systems holding liquids shall be purged before packaging. Containers, voids and piping systems shall be dried and hermetically closed. SELLER shall inform BUYER of the presence of such remaining liquids and their quantity.

ANTI-CORROSION MEASURES

7.1.6.001 If SELLER has provided anti-corrosion measures for the transport, SELLER shall inform BUYER about

the type and brand of the protection used.

7.1.6.002 It is advisable not to include any refilling gases of above mentioned type, in separate bottles, to avoid a long process to obtain permits for chemicals. SELLER shall be in the position to source it locally, if necessary. Nevertheless, this should be agreed by the PARTIES during the bidding phase.

INTERNAL PACKAGING

7.1.7.001 SELLER shall guarantee that the internal packaging measures do not have negative consequences

for the CARGO to be transported.

7.1.7.002 Whenever required and, as agreed during bidding stage with BUYER’s Engineering department,

SELLER shall include any of the internal packaging methods below.

7.1.7.003 The choice of a preservation method shall take into account the characteristics of the cargo to be

transported. Three methods can be used for the preservation of packaged CARGO:

a) Use of desiccants;

b) Use of protective films; and

c) Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) method.

7.1.7.1

DESICCANTS

7.1.7.1.001 According to DIN 55473, desiccants are used to protect the packaged cargo against air humidity during transport and stowage in order to inhibit corrosion, attacks by mould and similar.

7.1.7.1.002 For this purpose, cargo is inserted into a tight outer packaging after having been enclosed in a sealed film in which the air is dehumidified to the extent that the remaining level of relative humidity cannot cause atmospheric corrosion during transport and storage.

7.1.7.1.003 The drying of the remaining air in the protective film coating is achieved by so-called desiccants or moisture absorbers according to DIN 55473. Due to its large surface area, they can attract and bind air-borne water molecules on their surface structure and dehumidify the air. The dryness level shall be maintained at a constant level of ≤ 40% RH. Below this threshold all corrosive processes based on water condensation effects shall be inhibited, as the available amount of water needed for the corrosion process to function is not present anymore.

7.1.7.1.004 The required number of desiccants shall be calculated in accordance with DIN 55474.

7.1.7.1.005 The sealed film enclosure consists on vapor barrier material. Single sheets shall be heat-sealed

together for oversized cargoes.

7.1.7.2

PROTECTIVE COATINGS

7.1.7.2.001 This method involves applying a protective coat directly after the cleaning and drying of the cargo to

be packaged. A suitable coating product is applied to the surface susceptible to corrosions.

7.1.7.2.002 These products form a coat on the surface. They shall be diluted with a solvent, white spirit or similar, even water, in order to make them usable. They are applied by immersion, brushing or spraying on. The solvent evaporates leaving a more or less solid coat. This layer stops corrosive elements in the air, such as water and oxygen from reaching the metal surface. According to its specifications, they can remain active during a few days (pre- or interim preservation) or a few years (final preservation). Normally, the removal of the protective coating from the packaged cargo will be necessary at the end of the transport and storage period.

7.1.7.3

VOLATILE CORROSION INHIBITOR METHOD (VCI METHOD)

7.1.7.3.001 The VCI method functions through a vapor phase, i.e. the production of some type of protective atmosphere within the sealed protective enclosure. VCI molecules evaporate from the carrier material such as paper, films, foams or powders and saturate the surrounding air.

7.1.7.3.002 They “cover” the surface of materials threatened by corrosion. The molecules form a protective film

on the layer of oxides that is present on all metal surfaces and inhibit corrosive processes.

7.1.7.3.003 A wide range of different VCIs are available. They differ in their protective effect on iron and non-iron metals as well as their alloys. Each single active agent is generally suited for one metal or one alloy. Therefore, they are often combined to offer a larger protection range.

7.1.7.3.004 Prior checking with the VCI supplier may be required. Final removal of VCI is not required.

INTERNAL MONITORING SYSTEMS

7.1.8.001 SELLER shall guarantee that the internal monitoring systems do not have negative consequences for

the CARGO to be transported.

7.1.8.002 Whenever required and, as agreed during bidding stage with BUYER’s Engineering department,

SELLER shall include in its scope any of the existing monitoring systems as agreed at such stage.

7.1.8.003 Devices to record shocks and vibrations shall be used for mechanical and electrical equipment such

as compressors, turbines, generators, motors, transformers, etc.

7.1.8.1

HUMIDITY INDICATORS

7.1.8.1.001 Humidity indicators are mainly used for long term storage together with desiccants (see section

7.1.7.1).

7.1.8.1.002 They show if the relative humidity values have passed a certain admissible threshold in a watertight

and water vapour tight packaging.

7.1.8.1.003 Humidity indicators are calibrated at a temperature of 20 °C.

7.1.8.2

SHOCK INDICATORS

7.1.8.2.001 Shock indicators are available for various levels of sensitivity.

7.1.8.2.002 A shock exceeding the limit value is indicated by an irreversible discoloration of the indicator.

7.1.8.2.003 These indicators are mainly used for smaller packages as they are more susceptible to suffer from

shocks.

7.1.8.2.004 In addition, a stick-on label can clearly warn of the presence of a shock indicator on the packaging.

7.1.8.3

TILT INDICATORS

7.1.8.3.001 Tilt indicators are mainly used for packages that are smaller and/or at risk through tilting.

7.1.8.3.002 An indicator is irreversibly discoloured when a tilting angle has been exceeded.

7.1.8.3.003 In addition, a stick-on label can clearly warn of the presence of a tilt indicator on the packaging.

7.1.8.4

DEVICES TO RECORD SHOCKS AND VIBRATION

7.1.8.4.001 After prior agreement with BUYER these devices can be included in SELLER’s scope with the

packaging to monitor transport stresses.

7.1.8.4.002 These types of systems are compulsory for mechanical and electrical equipment such as turbo-

generator, transformers, compressors and turbines.

7.2 CONVENTIONAL LOADS

7.2.001 In order to allow maximum stuffed capacity of maritime box containers, overall package dimensions

should, when feasible, be kept within the following figures:

a) Length: 5.8 m (20’ box) or 11.8 m (40’ box) or entire submultiple;

b) Width: 2.25 m or entire submultiple; and

c) Height: 2.2 m or entire submultiple.

7.2.002 However, to minimize the need for exceptional transport, packaging shall, unless dimensions and weights

are binding, observe the limitations indicated in the definition of CONVENTIONAL LOAD.

7.2.003 SELLER shall provide instructions on how to correctly unload materials loaded into containers at their premises, in order to have the proper unloading tools and avoid possible HSE incidents during unloading operations at destination.

7.3 HEAVY AND OVERSIZED LOADS

7.3.001 In the event that equipment does not conform with ordinary standards because of its size or weight,

SELLER shall, prior to the start of manufacturing, be responsible for:

a) obtaining a prior authorization from the competent authorities for transportation to the

specified place of delivery, in the case that this would be required;

b) furnishing to BUYER the drawing(s) indicating overall dimensions, with the estimated total weight of the packed equipment or part of equipment concerned and a method statement indicating all SUPPLY CHAIN actions in BUYER’s scope up to the place of delivery; and

c) obtaining BUYER’s final approval to the start of manufacturing.

7.3.002 Should SELLER fail to observe these above conditions or provide BUYER with erroneous information in this regard, SELLER shall bear all the consequences arising therefrom since the dimensions of oversized goods are extremely critical as inaccuracy may delay movement and create excessive costs and/or damage to the cargo.

7.3.003 Actual weight and dimensions need to be provided by SELLER to BUYER as soon as possible in advance (between the final as-built drawing and two (2) months before the shipment), so that the shipping plans can be changed if necessary with a minimum of delay or disruption.

7.3.004 In case the equipment should require saddles or particular lifting points and/or any specifically designed lifting tools, they shall be detailed by SELLER at bidding stage and included in SELLER’s scope, unless otherwise indicated by BUYER.

7.3.005 In case the equipment should require during the SUPPLY CHAIN any GPS tracking devices or commercial videos need to be shot during operations or any kind of oversized banners need to be affixed to it, the requirements shall be agreed between BUYER and SELLER,

7.4.1.003 Width of plywood panels shall be minimum 300 mm.

7.4.1.004 The quality of the used wood shall be sawn spruce, keeping the following requirements:

a) Dry and seasoned spruce (RH > 20%).

b) Groups of knots shall not cover more than 1/3 of board width; individual knots shall be not

larger than 50 mm diameter.

c) At a visual check, the spruce shall be a light pink. Sawn spruce showing signs of degradation

is not acceptable.

d) The solid wood packaging shall be totally free of bark and live pests.

e) The plywood shall be water and moisture proof, multi-layer type, with phenolic glue.

7.4.1.005 Filling material such as straw or any other flammable material is forbidden.

7.4.1.006 The goods shall be firmly fixed to the packaging floor and walls by means of bolts, spacers, shores,

trip steel, steel wire or similar.

7.4.1.007 Stiffening elements shall be fixed right below the lid. Their function is to enable the packaging box to resist the pressure caused by the lifting ropes or overhead loads. The size of these elements depends on the weight of the box, the width and the maximum permissible overhead load.

7.4.1.008 Wooden boxes and cases shall be stackable, at least, at three (3) stacking heights or tiers.

7.4.1.009 According to DIN 55 499 standard, there are six (6) types of cases depending on their assembly (types

A1- A6) when cargo is up to 500 kg.

7.4.1.6

LOAD-BEARING CASES FOR CARGO OVER 5.000 KG OR WITH A BASE MORE THAN 10 M2

7.4.1.6.001 For heavy-lift and over dimensioned cases, the filler planking is fitted vertically on the long side walls and horizontally on the short end walls, so that the bonding strengtheners are fitted in the direction of maximum stress. It is recommended that the structure is built with stiffeners of between 22 mm and 80 mm length and with diagonal battens to increase strength significantly.

7.4.1.6.002 All cases over 5 MTON of gross weight shall be fitted with metal angles and angle brackets at branch points, improving the joints between sides and adding resistance to the wooden parts. These angle irons, located on the centre of gravity, should be fastened to the longitudinal runners and the upper part of the case.

7.4.1.6.003 Correct LASHING and securing of these types of heavy cases while being transported is critical, and therefore a correct placement of external securing devices that enable the package to be correctly stowed shall be carried out.

7.4.1.6.004 Such LASHING points can be achieved in different ways provided that in any case they meet the

following requisites:

a) Linked to the CARGO.

b) Strong enough to withstand ship rolling and pitching at sea.

c) Accessible and large enough to take proper LASHING hooks, etc.

d) Properly marked normally with the words “Lashing here” and chains indicating the exact spot.

7.4.1.6.005 In the case of packaging for H/O LOADS, standard UNE 49023 “Platforms for transporting

machinery” can be consulted, which provides sizing tables for greater weights.

7.4.1.6.006 Casing considered as critical due to oversize or overweight shall need to incorporate LASHING

points both longitudinally and transversally at all sides.

7.4.1.6.007 Wooden casing shall incorporate LASHING points connected to the inner steel structure of package both in transversal and longitudinal directions as per below sketch. D-rings for LASHING connection shall be required.

7.4.1.6.008 Steel casing shall incorporate external connections such as steel plates welded to base profile, D-

rings, etc.

7.4.1.6.009 The below sketches show the above mentioned principles.

7.4.1.6.010 Load-bearing cases shall have several “windows” with enough size which allows the inspection of

the materials and equipment by Customs authorities.

7.4.2.001 Pallets shall be four-way-operating and made of wood in accordance with ISO standards.

7.4.2.002 Maximum weight of loaded pallets, including pallet net weight, shall be 1,200 kg.

of stretch-wrap plastic film.

7.4.2.004 The maximum height of palletized materials shall be 2.20 m including pallet height.

7.4.2.005 All wooden made pallets shall comply with ISPM15. Depending on the Country of Origin, fumigated or

pre-treated wood could be also acceptable.

7.4.4.001 Steel drums shall be used. Notwithstanding this, for powders with a maximum weight of 50 kg per

drum, plastic drums are allowed.

7.4.4.002 Maximum capacity of each drum shall be 220 l.

7.4.4.003 Drums for “dangerous materials” shall strictly comply with IMO / ADR / IATA regulations or similar, and

each drum has to be individually marked.

REELS / CABLE DRUMS

7.4.5.001 Cables shall be packed in wooden or metallic drums/ reels.

7.4.5.002 For both type of drums marking shall be executed on metal plates fixed on two sides.

7.4.5.003 The minimum diameter of the drums shall be twice the minimum bending radius of the cable and the

ends of the cable shall be sheathed and inserted inside the drum.

7.4.5.004 If delivery terms agreed in the ORDER obligates SELLER to do the loading of the cable drums into the containers, SELLER shall apply the required precautions to avoid drums movements inside the container.

7.4.5.005 In connection with the above requirement, BUYER recommends the following guidelines for loading

and LASHING a drum into a container:

a) Used drums will not be accepted.

b) The drums shall be re-lashed with individual row being supported with a crossed LASHING.

c) Each drum shall be supported for additional safety with larger wooden stoppers at all four

sides and the stoppers shall be nailed.

d) If in a container, the last row has two drums with different diameters, they shall be UNITIZED

to prevent that the smaller drum can nest into the bigger one.

e) The drums can be loaded forming lines of three (3) (for 6, 8 and 10 inches drums) or lines of

two (2) (for 12 inches or bigger drums).

f) The cable drums shall never be laid down or stacked.

g) The drums shall have a chock placed at each side. The chocks shall not be nailed to the

platform. Once the drum is in place, it shall be raised to put the chocks in.

h) To avoid the sideways movement, buffers shall be placed on the sides of the drums (their size

will depend on the weight of the drum). These buffers shall be nailed to the container.

i) The last line of drums inside the containers shall have some buffers to avoid the drum from rolling. Those buffers shall be placed in a T shape pattern and with planks that prevent the movement of the drums.

j)

If it is necessary to use straps, two (2) of them shall be put in each loading line.

k) The straps shall be placed crosswise, going through the central axis of the drums. The hooks

are put in the lower part of the container, making sure the straps are completely tense.

7.4.5.006 When cable drums are to be transported by air these shall be nested as per Figure 18 in order to be

accepted by the airline.

7.4.5.1

METALLIC DRUMS

7.4.5.1.001 The drums shall be placed perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the container (with the eye to the

door).

7.4.5.1.002 Each drum shall be lashed with four (4) lashes, two (2) in the front and two (2) in the back, also wooden stoppers are needed at the back and front as an additional support to stop over rolling. These stoppers shall be nailed to the container floor.

7.4.5.1.003 For 60 inches flange diameter and larger drum sizes, only steel drums shall be used for all export

consignments.

7.4.5.2

WOODEN DRUMS

7.4.5.2.001 Wooden Drums shall be used for drums with a flange diameter smaller than 60 inches, fulfilling the

requirements as follow:

a) Wood flanges:

o shall be painted yellow from outer side. o shall have anti termite treatment done.

b) Flange & Barrel liners:

o shall be made of foamed polypropilene material. o Flange inner surface liners shall be used while drum assembly to avoid cables heath

abrasion with flange surface.

o 3 mm polypropilene sheet to be wrapped and stapled over drum barrel to avoid direct

contact of wooden lagging and cable sheath.

c) Flex Protect - 10:

Sheet for outer surface protection manufactured by BESEL BASIM shall be:

impact proof against falling objects, shocks and compression.

o made of 100 % polyethylene fully recyclable. o o moisture and weather proof. o UV resistant.

BUNDLES

7.4.6.001 Goods packed in the same bundle shall be of the same type and have approximately the same length.

7.4.6.002 Fastened sections shall be placed symmetrically in respect of the centre of the bundle.

7.4.6.003 Bundles up to 2,000 kg weight shall be tied with steel wire ropes, sized for the intended purpose, duly

clamped and tensed, unless otherwise stated.

7.4.6.004 Wooden elements or neoprene strips shall be inserted between the steel wire ropes and the bundle to

partially absorb binding stress. The maximum distance between fastening sections shall be 1.5 m.

7.4.6.005 The material forming the bundle shall be separated into rows by interposing layers of wood on and below the U-iron beams and between the multiple rows in order to shape the bundle in a prismatic form, thus making easier and adequate the stacking.

7.4.6.006 Bundles over 2,000 kg weight shall first be tied with stainless steel strips, spaced at no more than 1.5 m, and then be secured by U-iron profiles duly welded or bolted. The maximum distance between the U-iron / bolts shall be 3,000 mm. Their maximum distance from the ends of the bundle shall be 1,000 mm. Each section shall withstand a stress equal to the weight of the entire bundle.

7.4.6.007 Unless otherwise indicated in the ORDER, maximum bundle weight shall not exceed 5,000 kg, except

for pipes, which shall not exceed 1,500 kg as defined in ANNEX D.3-10651.

WOODEN CRATES

7.4.7.001 Materials not needing special protection against rain, sun, environmental agents and the like, shall be

packed in crates.

7.4.7.002 The dimensions and thickness of boards and struts shall comply with the minimum figures provided in

section 7.4.1.

7.4.7.003 The bottom and structure of the crate shall support the entire weight without deformation or breaking,

when lifted by two (2) slings without spreaders with a minimum angle of 60º.

7.4.7.004 The bottom shall be suitable for handling by fork-lift (space for forks to be foreseen).

7.4.7.005 Structure packaging shall allow over-stacking of packages of same weight.

7.4.7.006 Type of nailing, bolting, reinforcing and fixing of material inside the crate shall be as for wooden cases.

7.4.7.007 Boards shall be spaced from 100 mm to 150 mm, according to the volume of the crate itself.

7.4.7.008 Contents shall be fixed to prevent movements and consequent damages either to the material or to

the package structures.

7.4.7.009 For this kind of packaging, marking shall be on a separate metal or plywood plate, fixed to the crate.

7.4.7.010 In any case, essential information such as PROJECT number, Consignee’s name, Letter of Credit number (if required by Consignee), ORDER number, etc. shall be stencilled directly on the crate boards.

7.4.7.011 Wooden crates shall comply with ISPM15. Depending on the Country of Origin, it could be also

acceptable fumigated or pre-treated wood.

SKID ASSEMBLY

7.4.8.001 This kind of packaging shall fully resist the weight of the equipment mounted on it. Preferably should

be metal assemblies and h type.

7.4.8.002 Depending on the transport method foreseen, these skids should present a respective transport

drawing and be previously approved by BUYER.

7.4.9.001 This kind of packaging should be restricted to airfreight only.

7.4.9.002 Carton box size shall be adapted to the dimensions of the goods and their particularities.

7.5

PHYTOSANITARY MEASURES

7.5.001 All wooden material shall comply with the ISPM, publication number 15 - Regulation of WPM in

international trade.

7.5.002 ISPM15 applies to coniferous softwood and non-coniferous hardwood used as raw wood packaging material. The standard does not apply to wood packaging made completely of manufactured wood-based products such as plywood and veneer, reconstituted wood products (particle board, chipboard, press wood, oriented strand board, high density fibres board, and medium density fibre board) or products created using glue, heat and pressure or a combination thereof.

7.5.003 All treated WPM shall have the IPPC Mark, as shown below:

7.5.004 The markings shall be within a rectangular border with a vertical line separating the IPPC logo (on the

left) from the identifying data, being that:

a) XX - Indicates a two letter ISO country code.

b) 0000 - The next series of letters/numbers is the unique identification mark of the wood treatment agent or packaging manufacturer. The number of letters or digits may vary according to each country. The country code and treatment agent or manufacturer code shall be separated by a hyphen.

c) YY - Indicates the type of treatment, and will either be HT (Heat Treatment) or MB (Methyl

Bromide).

7.5.005 The quarantine control shall be shown in the wooden elements as shown below.

7.5.06 The corresponding certificate from the packaging company shall be provided.

8 GENERAL MARKING REQUIREMENTS

8.001 All individual items included in a single package are to be marked separately.

8.002 Only BUYER’s shipping marks are allowed to be placed in the packages, as per requirements in the present

document (see format in ANNEX D.1-10651).

8.003 Each package shall be clearly marked in accordance with the following general requirements as well as the

additional specific requirements for each type of packaging in this section 8, as applicable:

a) The shipping mark shall be stencilled with indelible ink or paint on the packaging and shall not have any detrimental effect on the parts. Wood/metal plate marking shall only be used if authorized by BUYER.

b) Packages shall be numbered consecutively and preferably following a sequence based on the

total number of packages of the consignment, i.e. 1/5, 2/5 and so on up to 5/5.

c) As a general rule, marking on boxes and crates shall be applied on three sides (long sides

and top).

d) The colour to be used shall contrast with the package surface (never use yellow or red paint

for the lettering).

e) The size of lettering (legible at a distance of 8 meters) for shipping marks shall be determined

according to the package size, as follows:

8.1

SHIPPING MARKS FOR WOODEN BOXES OR CRATES

8.1.001 Packaged CARGO shall have the shipping marks stencilled with indelible ink or paint on the two sides of

each packed units.

8.1.002 Lettering shall be parallel to the bottom of the packaged CARGO and legible during normal transport

positions.

8.1.003 Where packaging material is light coloured, dark or black, stencil paint is generally acceptable. However, where packaging material is soiled or dark, a coat of flat-zinc-white paint shall be applied and allowed to dry before marking.

8.1.004 When package does not have sufficient space to apply shipping marks, metal labels of proportional size

shall be fixed to the package.

8.2

SHIPPING MARKS FOR EQUIPMENTS AND H/O CARGOES

8.2.001 Shipping marks shall be stencilled with indelible ink or paint on the outer packaging and shall not have any detrimental effect on the parts. Transparent adhesives of proportional size to equipment size shall be also accepted in order to be legible at a distance of 8 meters.

8.2.002 The CoG shall be marked. SELLER shall establish its position and indicate this to BUYER in accordance with Transportation Drawings. The same shall have to be applied to securing and lifting points

8.2.003 Should any package or item need to be filled-in with Nitrogen, CO2 or any other chemical for preservation (pressure equipment), this shall be marked both in the item itself and on the crate (if packaged), with the following statement, in indelible fashion:

8.3.1.001 Shipping marks shall be carried out on stickers and shall be placed on both ends of each pipe. It is not

allowed placing the shipping marks in the recessed caps.

8.5

STORAGE MARKING

A barrier layer which is (virtually) impermeable to water vapor and contains desiccants for corrosion protection is located beneath the outer packaging. This protection will be ineffective if the barrier layer is damaged.

8.5.001 CARGO shall be properly packaged for outdoor storage in the climatic conditions at the SITE for a

minimum period of twelve (12) months.

8.5.002 It shall be SELLER’s duty and responsibility to furnish BUYER with the necessary storage instructions by means of the Preservation and Long Term Storage Procedure corresponding to construction activities, which is part of VDDR. Any damage incurred due to incorrect or missing storage instructions and recommendations shall be at SELLER’s charge.

8.5.003 SELLER shall clearly specify if the equipment or material can be stored in open air (marked with “E”).

8.5.004 SELLER shall indicate at the time of submitting its proposal if there are any special requirements

regarding storage at SITE.

8.5.005 SELLER’s storage recommendations shall be marked on each package and indicated on the packing list

and shipping marks templates included in ANNEX D.1-10651

8.5.006 The main symbols for the type of storage are:

a) “A”: storage in heated/ventilated warehouse and with special precautions.

b) “B”: storage in closed warehouse.

c) “C”: storage in open shed.

EXCHANGERS AND VARIOUS SKID UNITS

9.2.1.001 Shop-assembled or pre-fabricated pressure vessels, tanks and heat exchanges shall be skidded with steel saddles suitably shaped and properly fastened to the piece by metal clamps to avoid possible slacks (fastening by wire ropes is forbidden, unless otherwise specified).

9.2.1.002 Timber shall be placed in the base of the saddles to increase friction between the workpiece and the

deck of the ship. Timber shall be placed only under the base of the saddle.

9.2.1.003 To avoid scratching the shell, soft neoprene trips shall be placed between the metal plate and the shell

itself. Typical thickness to be supervised and approved by BUYER case by case.

9.2.1.004 Wooden saddles are not allowed as unique support for vertical equipment in order to avoid packaging

collapse.

9.2.1.005 Wooden boards shall be fixed beneath saddles by means of bolts and nuts (nails are forbidden). The

width of the wooden boards shall be of the same size of the base of the saddle.

9.2.1.006 Saddles shall be fastened to the piece so as to allow an easier removal and reassembly of the saddle itself. Turnbuckles shall be appropriately tensioned taking into account possible slack caused by wood shrinkage.

9.2.1.007 Special oceanic carriers and Onshore transporters may require the quantity of saddles, their dimensions and fastening system for the skid unit to take into account the effect of dynamic forces during navigation – onshore transit, due to the acceleration values for Maritime Transport as shown in Table 2.

9.2.1.008 SELLER shall take into account the complete transportation route to determine the packaging.

9.2.1.009 In such a case, detailed drawings and calculations for saddles/fastening system to skid unit structure

shall be submitted to BUYER for approval.

9.2.1.010 Allowable load per transport saddle to be under 200 MTON.

9.2.1.011 Height of saddles shall be the lowest possible, without prejudicing their solidity.

9.2.1.012 Nozzles, manholes etc. shall be sealed by compatible metal disks (minimum thickness 5 mm) with gaskets (minimum thickness 5 mm), duly bolted. Fixing by wire or adhesive tape is strictly forbidden.

9.2.1.013 All parts subject to damage or scratches by the lifting and/or handling ropes or handling devices, out-

skirt included, shall be properly protected or removed, whenever possible.

9.2.1.014 SELLER shall provide the transport saddles with the following minimum dimensions if equipment

weight ≥ 80 MTON and/or length ≥ 25 m:

f) For Units longer than 40 m, SELLER shall ensure the possibility of Land Transportation utilizing only two (2) saddles (transportation with bolsters). It will rely under BUYER’s right to decide final transport solution. SELLER shall ensure validity of Load Case for Unit structural integrity. Land Transportation accelerations from Table 2 shall apply. Lashing requirements for temporary saddles included in section 9.2.1.2 shall apply.

9.2.1.1

LIFTING POINTS

9.2.1.1.002 Protection shall be provided along the whole circumference so that lifting sections can be used for

LASHING purposes and to avoid scratches of chains, tensors, etc.

9.2.1.1.003 Lifting angle of rigging used shall be detailed on a Transport Drawing.

9.2.1.1.004 In case equipment incorporates lifting lugs to be used for lifting purposes at SITE, wooden hurdles still to be provided for lifting operations and vertical LASHING while during Onshore – Offshore transit.

9.2.1.1.005 Lifting point shall be placed in areas where no damage can be caused to the external assembled parts by lifting ropes. Longitudinally wise, lifting points shall keep maximum symmetry as possible from CoG. In case more than two (2) lifting points are provided, SELLER to provide a lifting procedure specifying number of cranes, load on each point, lifting points to be used by each crane, lifting angle, etc.

9.2.1.1.006 In case of using lifting lugs, SELLER to provide a detailed calculation analysis according to the

provisions of section 6.1.1.3.

9.2.1.2

LASHING POINTS

9.2.1.2.001 When saddles are fixed / welded to Unit, additional LASHING points such as lugs / D-rings allowing for typical MSL 12 MTON shackle shall apply at side ends of mentioned saddles (type, quantity and location as per BUYER’s indications).

9.2.1.2.002 When saddles are not fixed / welded to Unit (temporary saddles) and / or have slender shape – high Height / Base ratio and over 500 mm – 1 m bottom clearance – and / or access to strong LASHING points is not granted due to Unit dimensions and transportation arrangement (either offshore or onshore) additional LASHING points such as lugs / D-rings allowing for typical MSL 12 MTON shackle shall apply directly to Vessel (type, quantity and location as per BUYER’s indications).

9.2.1.2.003 For both scenarios set out in the provisions 9.2.1.2.001 and 9.2.1.2.002, it will rely under BUYER’s

right to decide which fixation solution (D-ring, LASHING lug) SELLER shall provide.

9.2.1.2.004 When saddles are not fixed / welded to Unit (temporary saddles), LASHING points for local stability of saddles while transport shall be added to saddle: holes for shackle connection or D-rings and quantity will be typical solutions to be used as per the provisions of this document.

9.2.1.2.005 When saddles are not fixed / welded to Unit, interface material between Unit and saddle shall be made of elastomer compound made of synthetic rubber and polyurethane and shall have a minimum kinetic friction coefficient of u=0.6.

9.2.1.2.006 For all the equipment, vertical LASHING points shall be provided by means of using hurdles

protections (wooden protection bans) mentioned above.

9.2.1.2.007 Materials that may have an excessive high volume shall, whenever possible, be dismantled and

separately packed and prepared for assembly at SITE.

9.2.1.2.008 For exchangers fitted with expansion joints or bellows, a suspended protection shall be used. This protection shall consist of wooden reinforcing, fastened by steel rods, or caged, preventing movement in any direction.

9.2.1.2.009 Packages for heat exchanger tubes of length over 8 m shall be reinforced lengthwise by steel profiles.

9.2.1.2.010 Any equipment with wooden reinforcements shall comply with all applicable requirements included

in this document and SEAWORTHY PACKAGING standards.

9.2.1.2.011 For wooden skids, SELLER shall provide the technical data of the material including, but not limited

to, the compressive strength.

PREFABRICATED PRESSURE VESSELS, TANKS AND HEAT EXCHANGERS

9.2.2.001 In addition to the requirements included in section 9.2.1, the following requirements shall be applied:

a) Flat plates shall be bundled and placed on wooden skids up to 2 MTON weight or on U-Iron

skid structures up to 5 MTON weight, unless otherwise agreed.

b) For painted or coated flat plates, PVC bars with a thickness of 8 mm to 10 mm shall be

interposed as spacers.

c) Painted or coated flat plates shall be lifted by fibre slings instead of metallic ropes.

d) In order to avoid water stagnation, rolled steel plates shall in principle be placed face-down on suitably-designed skids provided with lifting lugs to enable handling and stowing without deformation of the material.

9.2.3.001 Air coolers are built up with different parts and components, out of which the bundles are the most

fragile ones and which require very special packaging and handling procedures.

9.2.3.002 Bundles shall be packed by two (2) unit-packages and inside of wooden crates. Alternatively, they shall be protected with metal frames provided by lifting and LASHING points to allow an efficient and secure handling during transport.

9.2.3.003 Inside the crate, finned surfaces shall be protected by a sheet of plastic material or other equivalent material capable of preserving the fins from bumping. SELLER shall check that the finned tubes are properly separated from each other spacers and shall guarantee the equipment against bumps or bending moments due to out-of-balance weight during transport, loading and unloading operations.

9.2.3.004 Side walls of the bundles packages shall be marked/stenciled with handling and LASHING instructions

being the following actions absolutely forbidden:

a) Handling with forklifts.

b) Handling and/or LASHING at any part of the bundle.

These operations shall be compulsorily carried out on the places provided for that purpose at the support external structure.

9.2.3.005 During storage phases, bundles packages shall be stacked in three (3) tier piles (total six (6) bundles).

The same consideration shall be taken during the stowage in the transport means.

9.2.3.006 Bundles land transport by truck shall be done by maximum one (1) two-unit-package and shall be

firmly and effectively lashed to the truck box to avoid any possible sliding.

9.2.3.007 The separate parts of the cooler shall be packed in wooden cases or crates and/or in bundles as for

the structure.

9.3

PUMPS, COMPRESSORS, MACHINERY AND ACCESSORIES

9.3.001 Pumps, compressors, machinery and the like shall be packed in wooden crates.

9.3.002 Surface protection shall be as per related indications in the present document.

9.3.003 Threaded connections shall be closed by well-greased threaded plugs.

9.3.004 All flanged connections shall be protected by bolted metal disks and rubber gaskets.

9.3.005 The base plate shall be bolted to the case bottom.

9.3.006 All disassembled parts shall be protected, identified and packed separately, even if contained in the same

case.

9.3.007 For machinery/compressors over 30 MTON, even if provided with SEAWORTHY PACKAGING, lifting lugs or cords shall be provided fixed to the machinery/compressors, protruding from the package. Lifting lugs shall be indicated in the Transport Drawings.

9.3.008 Vapor barrier bags shall be thermo-sealed to avoid air infiltration.

ELECTRICAL MOTORS, GENERATORS, PANELS, OTHER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

AND INSTRUMENTATION

9.4.1.001 Equipment / materials shall be packed in wooden cases and be protected by a thermo-welded hermetic

barrier according to the related requirements on this document.

9.4.1.002 Plug-in instrumentation installed on panels shall be properly fastened to the frame.

9.4.1.003 Should they suffer damages on transportation or deteriorations during storage period, they shall then

be removed and packed separately.

9.4.1.004 Instrumentation shall be packed with a considerable quantity of suctioning material, to absorb shocks,

consequently preventing damage.

9.4.1.005 For materials and equipment particularly subject to deterioration, due to vibration or shocks (i.e. telemetering and tele-control equipment), cases shall be constructed with double bottoms or double casing, supported by suitable rubber or synthetic pads.

ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENTATION CABLES

9.4.2.001 Cables shall be supplied on reels.

9.4.2.002 The reels shall be provided with thermo-retractable caps in order to avoid moisture penetration,

especially for cables with mineral paper or hygroscopic insulation.

9.4.2.003 The external surface of cables placed peripherally shall be protected with tarred paper and/or

cellophane sheeting.

9.4.2.004 Reels shall be always arranged vertically on a suitable pallet.

COPPER TUBES

9.4.3.001 These shall be supplied on reels.

CABLE TRAYS

9.4.4.001 These shall be crated.

9.4.4.002 If the CARGO is to be shipped in containers, as a general rule, trays will be supplied with a maximum

length of 5.8 m (for 20’ DV) or 11.8 m (for 40’ DV).

PIPING MATERIAL (PIPE, PREFABRICATED PIPING, FLANGES, FITTINGS,

VALVES, BOLTS AND NUTS), STEEL STRUCTURES, METAL PLATES AND

MODULES

9.5.01 The applicable loading and STUFFING requirements for pipes are included in the ANNEX D.3-10651.

PIPES

9.5.1.001 In order to protect the beveling, all pipe ends shall be plugged with plastic caps with a minimum depth

of 80 mm.

9.5.1.002 Beveling of pipes over 38” diameter shall be protected by Aluminum-Rings or wooden padding, unless

otherwise agreed.

9.5.1.003 CS pipes, alloy pipes, galvanized pipes and externally-coated or bituminized pipes shall be:

a) packed in bundles when diameter is between 1/2” and 6”.

b) loose when diameter is equal to or larger than 6”.

9.5.1.004 Notwithstanding the above, BUYER strongly recommends to bundle the pipes over 6” up to 10” piping

diameter, whenever possible.

9.5.1.005 Bundles of pipes shall not exceed 1,500 kg, and they shall contain pipes of the same diameter and

similar length.

9.5.1.006 CS bundles should be supported by at least three (3) double strap points (plastic or metallic, whichever suits the pipe bundle better). SELLER shall ensure with its sub-suppliers that the strapping is adequate and will withstand all SUPPLY CHAIN without deterioration, and shall be held responsible for it.

9.5.1.007 Each pipe shall be marked with at least the heat number, the number of bundle and the number of the

pipe.

9.5.1.008 Externally-coated or bituminized pipes included in a bundle shall be:

a) protected by winding vegetable or synthetic fibres cord, in order to avoid direct contact

between the fastening elements and the surface of the pipe.

b) handled with fibre slings instead of wire ropes.

9.5.1.009 When transported loose, the pipes shall be provided with plastic or rubber rings, in order to avoid

damage to the coating.

9.5.1.010 SS pipes, cast iron pipes, aluminium pipes and plastic pipes shall be crated.

9.5.1.011 Cemented pipes shall be:

a) transported loose;

b) handled with particular care (use of forklift is forbidden and fibre slings shall be used instead

of wire ropes);

c) handled with a maximum distance between the supporting or lifting points of 1.8 meters to

avoid bending;

d) provided with individual supports lined with rubber in order to absorb shock during transport;

e) loaded ensuring that maximum stacking height is 1.2 meters.

9.5.1.012 All types of pipes shall be fabricated with individual lengths of no more than:

a) Pipes supplied with Double Random Length (DLR) shall be of 11.8 m maximum.

b) Pipes supplied with Single Random Length (SRL) shall be of 5.8 m maximum.

9.5.1.013 If pipes are destined to pipeline the above mentioned requirement (maximum large values) will not

apply.

9.5.1.014 The maximum length for packed pipes (in boxes or crates) to be the same as mentioned above, and

has to include the packing.

PREFABRICATED PIPING

9.5.2.001 Prefabricated parts shall be packed in crates or, with BUYER’s prior agreement, in an updated SOC

and ISO certified sea container.

9.5.2.002 For partial consignments, each shipment shall include all prefabricated parts belonging to a single

isometric drawing.

FLANGES, FITTINGS, VALVES, BOLTS AND NUTS

9.5.3.002 They shall be protected against corrosion by special heavy-duty grease.

9.5.3.003 Contact surface of flanges and flanged fittings shall be duly protected to avoid mechanical damage.

9.5.3.004 Valves shall be protected by plugs of plastic material and be placed inside the packaging in a vertical

position, to avoid damage to hand wheel caps.

9.5.3.005 The specific conditions of transport stated in any manufacturing or design code shall be also fulfilled for any particular material or equipment (i.e. API 576 for pressure relief valves requires upright position).

9.5.3.006 It is of the upmost importance to avoid over stacking of flanges, fittings, valves, bolts or nuts in boxes without proper fixing as they may compress and subsequently break the package walls. To prevent this and as well injuries to by-standers, it is mandatory that the said materials be packed so as to keep a maximum package height of 800 mm – 1,000 mm, whenever possible.

STEEL STRUCTURE

9.5.4.001 Steel structure, profiles, ladders and/or any steel structure prefabricated items shall be bundled as

long as their shapes, lengths and weights allow a bundling easy to handle.

9.5.4.002 Otherwise, they shall be placed in one-way used containers or in steel crates constructed with steel

bars having sections like those of the packed items, so that to enable their reutilization at the SITE.

9.5.4.003 As a general rule, steel structure items shall be shipped either in 40’ DV (when sea transport is required) or in Flat-bed trucks (when only road transport is required). Therefore, the dimensions of the steel structure bundles shall take into account the maximum allowed dimensions of the shipping mode chosen for their shipment.

9.5.4.004 In the event of sea transport, steel structure items shall be shipped into 40’ DV provided by the Carrier (not SOC containers). In this case, SELLER shall provide along with the steel structure item a loading/unloading system for STUFFING/de-STUFFING steel structure of containers and shall be in charge of supervising the unloading operations of the containers at the discharging point of the container for the first three (3) shipments.

9.5.4.005 Steel structure sections which are part of other equipment (Air Conditioned, Furnaces or Boilers, etc.) shall be packed in crates. Always using the packaging adjusted to the equipment size (see the Figure 52 below).

9.5.7.001 For the maritime and inland transports, the packaging of modules shall observe the applicable

packaging instructions as indicated in this document.

9.5.7.002 Identification of CoG for modular systems shall be done taking into account the internal distribution of the equipment and elements that make up the module and the possible shifting of the CoG produced by the route conditions.

9.5.7.003 Worst case scenario of an 8% slope shall be considered as well as bumpy roads, uneven surfaces,

sometimes only graveled, that will generate strain and vibrations to the modules.

9.5.7.004 All parts and equipment inside a module shall be fixed in a way that strain and vibration to or between

them can be prevented and/or absorbed.

9.5.7.005 Instruments and electrical components mounted inside modules shall be protected to prevent them from damages as if they were standalone equipment and installed and fixed in such a way that they will not shift from their location.

9.5.7.006 Modules shall be supplied with spreader beams for loading / offloading which shall be designed specifically having in mind the dimensions and lengths of slings and location of the CoG.

9.6

PACKAGING FOR AIRFREIGHT SHIPMENT

9.6.001 These instructions simply point out the requirements involved in air-freighting. Notwithstanding this, it shall be taken into account that individual air hauliers often impose their own rules on delivery, freight and packaging requirements.

9.6.002 In the event that BUYER requires airfreight transportation, SELLER shall observe the following

instructions:

a) Packaging shall be designed to resist vertical loads of 3g and or lateral or forwards/backwards

loads of 1.5g.

b) Packaging shall be of the smallest volume possible.

c) Packages for airfreight shipment shall not exceed 3 m length, except otherwise agreed with

BUYER.

d) SEAWORTHY PACKAGING is not required for airfreight. Nevertheless, the packaging

structures shall be designed to enable overstocking, loading/unloading with forklift.

e) Depending on the nature of the cargo to be transported, wooden packaging may be removed to reduce the shipping weight. Cardboard / pallets may be used after prior agreement with BUYER for cargo to be transported by airfreight.

f) Individual authorization by the airline may be required for certain cargo.

g) SELLER shall weight the packages at their workshop or at their packaging suppliers’ premises, in order to avoid modifying the SHIPPING DOCUMENTS at the very last minute due to weight discrepancy when the CARGO is weighted at the airport terminal.

9.6.003 When pipes are to be transported by air, their length shall not exceed 3 meters and any packaging

requirement from airline shall be followed by SELLER in order to obtain acceptance from the airline.

9.7

PACKAGING FOR SPARE PARTS

9.7.001 Following the provisions of PURCHASE CONDITIONS, spare parts shall be packed separately and shall

be marked in a clearly visible place according with the types mentioned therein.

9.7.002 Spare parts shall be transported, delivered and stored with the main item of the ORDER, but always

separately packed and marked.

9.7.003 In each box containing spare parts, besides the packing list copy, a copy of the Spare Parts List shall be

included. The spare parts supplied shall be clearly highlighted on the Spare Parts List copy.

9.7.004 Spare parts shall be properly protected for storage in accordance with relevant ORDER requirements.

9.7.005 SELLER shall take into account any additional specific requirements related to spare parts included in

the ORDER.

9.8

PACKAGING FOR MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS

9.8.001 SELLER shall inform BUYER about the existence of these materials in the ORDER on the agreed dates

included in the VDDR for related documents.

VEHICLES

9.8.1.001 The following protective measures shall be taken:

a) Minimize the quantity of fuel, cooling water, and lubricating oil.

b) Disconnect the battery.

c) Remove forklift forks, crane accessories, and truck hoods and pack them separately.

d) Securely fasten accessories to the operator’s seat wherever possible.

e) Remove spare tyres.

f) Grease the axles adequately.

g) Glass parts shall be protected by plywood or other screening material in order to avoid

handling damage.

h) Provide safety belts for both drivers and passengers.

i) Vehicles shall be homologated for the country of destination and have all transport documents

updated.

WELDING ELECTRODES

9.8.2.001 Welding electrodes shall be contained in hermetically soldered metallic boxes, absolutely water and

moisture proof, and packed in wooden cases.

REFRACTORY BRICKS

9.8.3.001 Refractory bricks shall be protected by polyethylene sheeting, allowing air circulation, and packed in

wooden cases.

CEMENT

9.8.4.001 Cement shall be packaged in three-wall paper bags wrapped in polyethylene bags and fastened onto

the pallets.

MINERAL WOOL-FOAM GLASS

9.8.5.001 Unless otherwise agreed, mineral wool shall be packed in double polyethylene bags, fastened onto

the pallets.

9.8.5.002 Foam glass shall be packed in three-wall cartons lined with polyethylene wrapping, and fastened onto

the pallets.

CHEMICAL PRODUCTS, CATALYSTS

9.8.6.001 Unless of a hazardous nature, these materials shall be packed in bags protected by polyethylene

sheeting, or in steel drums, fastened and secured onto the pallets.

9.8.6.002 Large quantities of drums shall be preferably shipped, with BUYER’s prior approval, in CSC and ISO

homologated containers.

LUBRICANTS

9.8.7.001 Lubricants shall be shipped in 220 l (maximum) steel drums duly fastened and secured onto the pallets.

9.8.7.002 If drums are designed with welded top covers they shall be shipped loose.

9.8.7.003 SELLER, besides all the export documentation, shall make available, whenever required by the rules/regulations of the exporting country, the corresponding export form duly filled-in and signed, and import license, if required by the PROJECT delivery terms.

HAZARDOUS OR DANGEROUS MATERIALS

9.8.8.001 Goods classified as hazardous or dangerous (i.e. paints, gas bottles, chemicals, or the like) shall be packed, labelled and marked in accordance with IMO/ADR/IATA regulations or similar, as applicable.

9.8.8.002 Dangerous and hazardous parts contained in any main supply shall be packed separately in

accordance with the above regulations and be handled as a single shipment.

9.8.8.003 It is recommended that dangerous and hazardous materials shall, whenever feasible, be packed in

small volumes to enable partial deliveries.

RADIOACTIVE GOODS

9.8.9.001 Instruments, lighting-rods or the like, containing a specific activity of more than 74 kBq (0.002 MCI/g)

are classified as radioactive.

9.8.9.002 Radioactive goods shall be sealed in leaded safes and packed in wooden cases.

9.8.9.003 Packaging, labelling and marking shall be according to IATA regulations.

OTHER MATERIALS

9.8.10.001 Other types of packaging not included in these instructions shall be agreed with BUYER.

  1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to establish the minimum requirements and responsibilities for STUFFING and handling pipes delivered loose or in bundles, shipped in containers or as breakbulk cargo and then delivered by conventional trucks to SITE, for any SELLER who has piping in its scope, in order to:

o guarantee pipes integrity and safety, o guarantee the integrity and safety of involved workforce, facilities and machineries, and o

facilitate the proper delivery avoiding pipe misallocation.

  1. APPLICATION SCOPE

The present document shall be applicable to all loading, unloading and STRIPPING operations of containers, trucks, vessels, etc. for loose pipes and/or bundles performed during the SUPPLY CHAIN.

All the parties involved in the SUPPLY CHAIN, including but not limited to, SELLER whenever any handling operation is in its scope, as well as Offshore and Onshore 3PL and all their subcontractors (stevedoring company, carrier, trucking company, etc.) shall comply with the requirements established in this document and shall carry out all actions required to fulfil with the purpose of this document even if there are not mentioned hereinafter.

  1. RESPONSIBILITY

It is sole responsibility of SELLER to discuss, implement and enforce these minimum requirements with their SELLER’S PROVIDERS, as applicable.

SELLER shall be fully responsible for the performance, acts, failures and omissions, of all its SELLER’S PROVIDERS, regardless that sub-suppliers and subcontractors had been in advance approved by BUYER.

LOADER’s own experience and practice shall determine any improvement to these instructions to ensure safety handling of pipes along the whole SUPPLY CHAIN.

Fulfilment of these minimum requirements does not constitute a limitation of LOADER’s responsibility for any loss and/or damage caused during loading, unloading and transportation of the pipes.

The main responsibilities of the parties involved in the described activities are included in the following table.

Each party shall perform its identified activities in this document with special attention to safety.

  1. DEFINITIONS AND ACRONYMS

Capitalized words and expressions in the wording correspond with definitions. All definitions and acronyms used in this document are defined in the Annex A of the PURCHASE CONDITIONS and shall be applicable to this document accordingly.

  1. INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Pipes are fabricated in several materials, diameters and lengths, including different alloys of metal and plastic in different lengths and schedules, coated or not. Due to the specific characteristics of pipes (low friction, rolling materials, etc.), proper LASHING and securing of this type of cargo is critical in order to avoid piping rolling around. Therefore, these materials need to be sufficiently restrained using specific LASHING and securing methods to limit their movement effectively.

In order to avoid or minimize transportation damages, pipes shall be handled at all times in a manner that will not cause excessive stress, dents, nicks, gouges, permanent bends, ovality, disbondment of coating or any other damage to the pipe, pipe end bevels or pipe coating.

Special attention shall be paid to safety in the handling of the CARGO, in order to avoid any risk for involved workforce due to incorrect handling of the goods. For this purpose, approved and tested tools and machinery shall be used. Prior to commencement of the operations, a risk assessment shall be carried out.

Selection of means of transport (container, truck, etc.) in agreed PO INCOTERM such as FCA Workshop or FCA Port shall exclusively be at BUYER’s discretion. Therefore, SELLER / LOADER shall be able to load in any means of transport presented by BUYER.

Bundles of pipes shall not exceed 1,500 kg, and they shall contain pipes of the same diameter and similar length.

Pipes of different materials cannot under any circumstance be mixed in the same container, truck or vessel to avoid corruption.

It is mandatory for SELLER / LOADER, in order to protect the bevelling, to ensure that ends of pipes over 4” (100 mm – DN 100) diameter are plugged with plastic caps and ends are sealed with water proof tape, with a minimum depth of 80 mm. Bevelling of pipes over 38” (900 mm – DN 900) diameter shall be protected by Aluminium-Rings or wooden paddings, unless otherwise agreed.

5.1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOADING AND STUFFING OF PIPES (LOOSE AND BUNDLES) IN

CONTAINERS

5.1.1. CHECKING CONTAINER/LASHING TOOLS CONDITIONS

LOADER shall provide, before loading onto containers takes place, the loading plan that shall be confirmed by BUYER. This loading plan shall include:

a) the quantity and type of pipes to be loaded in each container,

b) references to the LASHING method and calculation,

c) references to available dunnage (bearing and separating strips), LASHING straps, slings, and

d) references to any other equipment used for loading, LASHING and securing of pipes inside the

container.

LOADER shall provide its own Handling and Transportation procedure, specifying the applicable requirements and recommendations for handling, preservation during transport, stackability and recommended tools to be used for loading/unloading of pipes. BUYER reserves the right to revise and comment this document.

Every container shall be inspected by LOADER upon reception in order to verify its cleanliness and general conditions. In case any problem is detected during inspection (structural deformities, shackle points not in good order, damages on flooring or damaged OT Tarpaulin, etc.), it shall be reported to BUYER and container shall, at BUYER’s discretion, be either rejected or reported via EIR to 3PL (with pictures showing the evidences of the damages using format included in Annex D.3.3-10651).

LOADER shall check and verify before loading onto containers takes place, the availability of proper and in perfect usage conditions LASHING tools, including but not limited to, fumigated dunnage, LASHING straps, LASHING components and tensioners, alternative dunnage equipment, etc.

5.1.2. PRE-ARRANGEMENTS

All the containers shall be prepared to receive the pipes.

LASHING cable/slings and dunnage shall be placed in the bottom and in the sides of the container.

Within the container, wooden strips shall be placed on the successive layers, in correspondence with bottom strips, in order to avoid bending of CARGO. At least five (5) strips along the whole pipe length shall be placed for 40’ containers, and three (3) strips for 20’ containers. This requirement is mandatory for pipes delivered in bundles and/or special racks.

Forklifts, cranes and any other equipment used for handling bare or coated pipes shall be properly padded with rubber/polyethylene to protect the pipe being handled and the adjacent pipes in the stack. Hooks, forks, clamps, etc. shall be also padded when used to handle bare pipe.

Pipes shall be loaded in layers duly classified by similar diameters to ensure the placement and optimization of wood dunnage between the layers for a safe transport and safe handling during the offloading operations at delivery destination. All parties concerned in the operation shall verify that this will be duly done at origin and shall bear responsibility in this respect.

SELLER/LOADER shall be responsible and shall bear all costs for the adequate loading, stowing and securing of materials properly onto truck or/and inside the sea container or air plane hold, in a way that can be easily and safely handled and unloaded, in good conditions, at agreed PROJECT destination. SELLER/LOADER concerned in the operations shall warn BUYER regarding any non compliance from these requirements.

Adherence to these recommendations in no way absolves or relieves SELLER/LOADER of any responsibility or obligation outlined in the ORDER.

5.1.3. LOADING AND STUFFING OPERATIONS IN 40’ DV AND 20’ DV

The weight of the CARGO shall be uniformly distributed over the container floor. Point loads shall be avoided, since they pose a risk to the CARGO, equipment and people handling the container.

All pipes within every layer shall be of the same diameter and schedule and shall always be stowed in a close- contact way.

Any free space between the pipes shall be filled with wood or other soft material in order to avoid any possible movement during transportation.

Enough space between the last layer of pipes/bundles and the top of the container shall be left in order to enable operator to perform CARGO LASHING and securing operations.

If pipes to be stowed within the container present oil or any other substance, a suitable protection shall be placed in the bottom of container in order to avoid their contamination. For that purpose, plastic film is recommended.

Whenever possible, pipes/bundles shall be previously UNITIZED, at least by layers.

The slings used to load the bundles into the container cannot be removed after STUFFING the containers and shall be left inside to facilitate STRIPPING operations at destination.

At minimum, two (2) slings shall be used to ensure the load is well fixed and balanced.

Should any container not being loaded, stowed and lashed in accordance with the present instructions, BUYER reserves the right to send it back to SELLER/LOADER’s premises or to back charge any extra cost arising due to the additional transport/operations required to ensure a safe offloading of the CARGO.

5.1.3.1. CONVENTIONAL METHODS

Below have been established the minimum requirements that shall be used to stuff DRY VAN CONTAINERS according to different permitted methods:

5.1.3.1.1. BY MEANS OF TWO FORKLIFTS

One (1) forklift shall take one or various pipes by its longitudinal center and introduce one of their ends inside the container, laying them whenever necessary onto one (1) or two (2) rolls, previously placed inside the container. The other forklift shall hold the pipes by the other end by means of a short synthetic web belt attached to its forks, pushing them into the container (while the first forklift moves away). Pipes shall enter the container rolling over the rolls.

5.1.3.1.2. BY MEANS OF A CRANE AND A FORKLIFT

Similar to the above-mentioned method but replacing one of the forklifts by a crane. The crane, fitted with synthetic web belts, shall keep the pipes elevated. The forklift shall push them into the container and the pipes shall roll on one (1) or two (2) rolls.

5.1.3.1.3. BY MEANS OF A HIGH LOADING CAPACITY FORKLIFT AND A FRAME

The forklift shall be fitted with a frame on its forks that allows hanging a certain quantity of pipes longitudinally to it by means of two (2) synthetic web belts. The pipes shall be introduced into the container through its door, hanging from the frame, up to their final stowage position. The frame shall be about 9 meters long if the container being stuffed is 40’. Shorter frames up to a minimum of 4 meters long can be used to stuff containers of 20’. The forklift shall have enough capacity to hoist frame plus pipes weight.

5.1.3.2. SPECIAL METHOD (UNITIZED CARGOES)

Pipes shall be previously placed on special wooden bases/BEARING STRIPS and properly stowed.

Successive layers within the unit shall be separated by wooden strips. When the unit is complete, the CARGO shall be lashed all around by means of steel straps (or other means like steel cables or synthetic web belts).

Maximum weight of the UNITIZED load shall be determined by the offloading equipment available at unloading point agreed for the PROJECT and shall be confirmed by BUYER.

Loading pipes shall be carried out by means of a forklift with special forks or extensions properly padded allowing the lifting of pipes that have been previously UNITIZED.

5.1.4. LOADING AND STUFFING OPERATIONS IN 40’ OT

The using of OT for pipes/bundles shall be expressly authorized by BUYER’s Logistics Department representatives. Normally OT are to be used only when the weight of the pipes shipped exceeds 12 MTON.

Within the container, wooden strips shall be placed on its floor (at least five (5) strips along the whole pipe length) and on the sides (at least two (2) strips per side) in order to avoid contact between the tubular material and the container.

In order to stuff tubular material through the top, a crane and synthetic web by end-hooks (depending on pipe ends, including end protectors and packaging) shall be used.

5.1.5. LOADING AND STUFFING OPERATIONS IN 40’ FR

FR shall be used exclusively under express authorization by BUYER. They are to be used only due to exceptional length of the pipes exceeding 11.8 m and in the event pipes cannot be shipped on break bulk vessels for any reason.

Within the container, wooden strips shall be placed on the floor and between layers (at least five (5) strips along the whole pipe length) in order to avoid contact between the tubular material and the container.

At least four (4) metallic stanchions or stakes shall be installed on each container wall boundary, in order to help holding the CARGO and to avoid collapse of the stacked pipes.

Additional safety measures shall be taken to CARGO LASHING, STUFFING and securing when using FLAT RACK CONTAINERS due to the nature of this type of container.

5.1.6. LASHING AND SECURING OF CARGO

Once pipes or bundles have been loaded and stowed inside the container, they shall be lashed and secured by means of LASHING wires, straps or synthetic web belts by LOADER, in order to prevent movements while handling the container and during the transportation.

All the free spaces or gaps shall be properly filled with wooden chocking. It is also recommended to place wooden protection between pipes ends and the container back-wall and door.

Special arrangements shall be performed to secure the pipes of the top layer when it is incomplete. The use of wedges nailed to the wooden strips separators is recommended.

5.1.7. LOADING REPORT

LOADER shall prepare a checklist (refer to template in ANNEX D.3.3-10651), as a guideline to verify the concerned operations. The mentioned checklist shall include verification of the following items, as minimum: CARGO condition, container condition, dunnage in bottom and sides, wooden strips, tightness of LASHING, etc.

The loading report shall be provided in due time to BUYER duly signed and stamped (via email), certifying that the minimum requirements and recommendations included in this document have been taken into consideration.

Loading Report shall also include photos of the pipes/bundles once stuffed.

The report shall include a CARGO list indicating quantity and type of pipes loaded on each means of transportation and other relevant information, potentially required by BUYER.

In the event of damages during loading operations, these shall be immediately reported to BUYER’s Logistic Department Representatives. Damaged pipes/bundles shall be marked, identified and segregated, if so required by BUYER.

5.2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOADING AND STUFFING OF PIPES (LOOSE AND BUNDLES) IN

BREAK BULK

5.2.1. STORAGE AT POINT OF DELIVERY AGREED IN THE ORDER

a) Steel pipes shall not be stored directly on ground.

b) Pipes shall be stacked on wooden sleepers or sand rows (covered with LDPE plastic sheets in

order to avoid any contamination with sand and/or water in case of rain).

c) The material used to make the rows shall be dry and free of rocks, frozen lumps or other hard

objects that might damage the pipe or coating.

d) Care shall be taken to ensure soil / gravel does not contact to or remain frozen onto the pipe.

e) A minimum of two (2) wooden sleepers/sand rows shall be placed. The first layer shall be at least

20 cm over the ground.

f) The pipes shall be stacked separately according to their specification (i.e., size, schedule, grade,

manufacturer, coating, etc.) in order to facilitate identification at any time.

g) Stacking shall be done in a staggered pattern so that each pipe in the stack is supported by full

length of two (2) pipes in the immediate lower row.

h) Pipes shall be stacked in trapezoidal form to avoid collapsing of the pipe stack.

i) Stack shall be lightly sloped to drain off rain water.

The 3PL in charge of this part of the scope, shall ensure with the concerned Port or Warehouse entity that the above mentioned is strictly observed.

5.2.2. LOADING ON BOARD AT PORT OF LOADING

a) The pipes must be stowed separately according to their specification and/or the project they belong to, in order to facilitate identification at any time. The combination of cargoes from different specifications, projects and/or other shipping line clients in the same hold/hatch shall not be permitted without the express approval of BUYER.

b) In cases where SELLER’s scope includes main freight, the hired vessel shall be of box‐shaped hold/hatch. Subject to BUYER’s approval, any other type of vessels may also be used provided they minimize the risk of pipe damage during loading and unloading of pipes.

c) Fumigated dunnage shall be used in case required by the law of the concerned discharge port.

d) The cranes of each hatch/hold of the vessel shall have Teflon coated hooks & wire‐type ropes to

avoid any mechanical damage to the pipes (bare & coated).

e) Only clean certified slings are authorized.

f) During the pipe loading onto the vessel, nylon ropes/nylon belt shall be used to minimize the

swinging of pipes from the hatch/hold cranes.

g) Size of each hatch used for loading/discharging pipes shall exceed the length of the pipes loaded/discharged via this hatch in longitudinal direction (before/after position stowage), by minimum one meter.

h) Vessel holds/hatches shall also meet this requirement in order to avoid athwart ship‐stowage of

pipes as far as possible.

i) Before loading of the pipes (bare) onto the vessels, the vessel shall be inspected by QC In‐

charge‐Port for the cleanliness of the hatches/holds.

j)

In order to prevent direct contact between the hooks and the pipes, special hooks lined with soft material such as aluminium, polyethylene or rubber along with nylon belts shall be used for pipe lifting.

k) The floor of the hold shall be dunnage with timbers (a minimum of 4 (four) sections), from port to starboard side to assure that the longitudinal piles of pipes have no contact with the protuberant parts of the vessel.

l) Wooden sleepers of minimum 3’ width x 2’ height x 4’ length shall be placed horizontally at equal intervals at the bottom of the tier. No wooden planks shall be placed within one meter of the ends of the pipes.

m) Pipes shall be stowed longitudinally inside the holds (forward/afterward position), with the gaps on the sides being filled with timbers in order to tie the tier in the correct place, if necessary. The pipes in each tier shall rest in the channels of the underlying tier.

n) Ship sides shall have lining with dunnage with rubberized surface for contact with pipe. Pipe stacks shall have sufficient spacing for applying hooks and enabling the handling of the pipes. Pipes shall have appropriate chocking to avoid shifting of pipes during transportation.

o) Pipes shall only be stowed where they can be loaded directly by the crane, without further

dragging under the wings of the hold.

p) Pipes shall be tied in their adequate place by filling the gaps on the sides with wooden walls.

q) In case of coated pipes, the wooden walls in direct contact with the pipes shall be coated with soft

material, such as rubber band, polyethylene, etc.

r) For pipe LASHING, nylon belts shall be used.

s) The SHIPPING AGENCY shall arrange for proper LASHING in each hatch to avoid the movement

of pipes during sailing resulting in minimized damages of pipes / coating.

5.2.3. OFFLOADING OPERATION AT DESTINATION PORT

As a general rule, all the instructions and recommendations regarding handling at Port of Loading apply also for offloading operations at Destination Port.

a) While placing hooks on the pipe bevels, same shall be first placed on the longitudinal center of the pipe at about one meter high and stevedores shall take the hooks to the pipe ends maintaining their height, avoiding any contact between the hooks and the pipes.

b) When withdrawing hooks from the pipe bevels, stevedores shall remove them to the longitudinal center of the pipes keeping them at a reasonable height, while waiting for hooks to be lifted by crane. This will prevent any contact between the hooks and the pipes.

c) Pipes shall not be laid directly on either a truck or on a storage area floor, it shall be on wooden

sleepers.

d) The floor shall have sleepers in order to keep the first tier aligned.

e) In case of coated pipes, such wooden sleepers shall be coated with soft material, such as polyethylene or rubber, before laying the first tier in order to prevent direct contact between the pipes and the wood.

f) All equipment, tools and materials in direct contact or operating close to the coated pipes should be coated or protected with soft material to prevent damages to the pipes and to the pipe bevels.

g) Spreaders shall be used, when necessary, to facilitate the withdrawal of hooks without any harm to the pipe as well as to provide a better control of the pipe movements while being lifted in the air. Nevertheless, it shall be considered that there shall be sufficient space for their use when unloading a pipe from a pile in order to prevent harm to the bevel of pipe placed on the adjacent pile.

h) Any pipe damage detected during transportation or unloading shall be promptly reported (with photographs, if possible) to BUYER and to the party responsible for the transportation, appropriately marked and set aside for further disposition.

5.2.4. CHECKING OF TRUCK AND LASHING TOOLS CONDITIONS

a) Preferably, low‐bed trailers are to be used. In case of semi low beds trailers, an even platform

shall be created by placing a single block or log on the lower end of the trailer bed.

b) Loading platform shall have slip-resistant floor. Metal floor is not allowed, except if it is additionally equipped with protective rubber cushions along the overall length of the side which pipes contact with.

c) Trailers shall be equipped with a headboard between the cabin and the loading platform in order to protect the vehicle personnel in case of load shifts forwards. Headboard has to be functional without cracks in bearing weld seams.

d) Trailers shall be equipped with at least four (4) steel stanchions (stakes) in each lateral side, duly protected with wood, rubber or polyethylene cover, in order to facilitate stowage of the pipes and to prevent CARGO collapse. As this is a critical point for safety reasons, particular attention shall be put on the proper welding and general condition of the stanchions.

e) Last layer of pipes shall not exceed the height of the stanchions. Trucks with weak or damaged

stanchions, or with insufficient stanchions shall be rejected.

f) Trailers used to ship pipe shall be reasonably free of foreign materials and debris, particularly those of such sizes and hardness that could damage pipe during shipment and handling or that could contribute to movement of the pipe during shipping.

g) When transporting coated pipe, the truck and trailer shall be equipped with mud guards to prevent

stones and other debris from impacting the loads.

5.2.5. PRE-ARRANGEMENTS TO RECEPTION GOODS AT DESTINATION PORT

a) Wooden strips shall be placed on the floor and between layers (at least five (5) strips along the whole pipe length) in order to avoid contact between the tubular material and the container.

b) If an odd number of BEARING STRIPS are used, one bearing strip should be positioned approximately in the longitudinal center of the load and the others to be spaced proportionally to its length.

c) BEARING STRIPS shall be of wood with appropriate strength, dimensions and condition to properly support the load for which they are intended. BEARING STRIPS with rounded corners, with splits or showing signs of rotting shall not be used.

d) BEARING STRIPS shall be free of metallic protrusions (nails, staples, steel shavings, etc.) that

may come in contact with the pipe.

e) Side protection shall be provided for pipe shipped in trailers where the pipe may contact the sides

of the trailer.

5.2.6. LOADING OPERATIONS ON TRUCK AT DESTINATION PORT

a) Whenever possible, pipes shall be received alongside vessel by direct offloading on trucks.

b) Each truck shall be loaded with pipes of the same specification (length, diameter, etc.).

5.2.6.1. STRIP LOADING

a) Preferably, each layer of pipes shall be separated with SEPARATOR STRIPS in order to allow

loading same quantities of pipes in each layer.

b) All pipes within every layer shall always be stowed in a close‐contact way.

c) A minimum of three (3) wooden BEARING STRIPS shall be placed along the trailer length to support pipe. They shall have a thickness so as to allow the free access and exit of the forks of front end loader, and also to avoid contact between pipes and trailer floor.

d) Tiers or layers shall be separated by wooden BEARING STRIPS, and they shall be secured by nailed wedges. Wooden strips in between tiers shall be placed according with bottom strips in order to avoid bending on the steel pipes.

e) Height of last pipes layer shall not exceed the height of the cab guards.

5.2.6.2. PYRAMIDAL LOADING

a) Alternatively, pipes can be stowed in “pyramid” pattern (nested pipes), without wooden strips

between each layer.

b) Pipes shall be lifted and stowed on the trailer and unloaded from the trailer by means of end hooks

or vacuum pad. The use of forklifts or slings is not allowed.

c) The trailer floor preparation shall be conducted placing wood BEARING STRIPS along the trailer length. They shall have enough thickness so as to avoid the contact between the pipe and the trailer floor.

d) Each layer shall have one pipe less than the previous one and no wooden separation between

layers shall be placed.

e) Height of last pipes layer shall not exceed the height of the cab guards.

5.2.7. STUFFING AND LASHING ON TRUCKS

a) Pipes shall be lashed down or secured by a minimum of four (4) convenient buckle and strap load wire slings, nylon webbing slings or other suitable soft material. It shall be ensured that LASHING wire slings are covered by rubber packaging with minimum thickness of 5 mm ‐7 mm and do not come in contact with the pipe body. The tightening mechanism of the strap shall not be allowed to come in contact with the pipes.

b) Minimum four (4) ratchet belts or chains shall be placed on the bare and coated pipes during the transportation. Therefore, truck shall be equipped with appropriate LASHING rails or enough LASHING points (in appropriate strength and number).

c) One single LASHING point can hold maximum three (3) straps, but each one shall be tensioned

in different direction.

5.2.8. OFFLOADING AND RECEPTION REPORT

The Onshore 3PL’s Representative shall supervise the offloading operation at destination port and shall be present at any time during offloading operations.

The Onshore 3PL shall prepare a report following these requirements:

a) the report shall include a checklist (refer to template in Annex D.3.2-10651), as a guideline to verify operations. Mentioned checklist shall include a verification of the following items as minimum: CARGO condition, trucks condition, dunnage in bottom and sides, wooden strips, tightness of LASHING, etc.

b) the report shall include photos of the pipes/bundles stuffed in the hold and once stowed on truck.

c) the report shall include a CARGO list indicating truck number, quantity and type of pipes loaded

on each truck, etc.

Loading Report shall be provided in due time to BUYER duly signed and stamped (via email), certifying that minimum requirements and recommendations included in this document has been taken into consideration.

In the event of damages, these shall be immediately reported to BUYER’s Logistics Department Representatives. Damaged pipes/bundles shall be marked, identified and segregated if so required by BUYER.

5.3. SAFETY

All parties involved in the loading process are strongly encouraged to comply with the following instructions:

a) Local regulations and/or customer requirements related to safety during loading and unloading

operations and during the trip shall always be followed.

b) Involved personnel shall be qualified, competent and have demonstrated that they have the

necessary knowledge and skills for safely and properly perform their assigned work.

c) All personnel in the work area, including drivers, shall wear proper PPE.

d) Before commencement of the loading/offloading operations a safety induction is to be carried out with all the personnel involved, in order to identify the hazards and how to eliminate or reduce the risk of accidents or incidents.

e) All personnel involved in operations, including truck driver, shall not be under the effects of

alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances.

f) The good housekeeping helps to enhance the safety level in the workplace.

g) All the accidents or incidents shall be reported immediately.

h) Workers have to use proper ladders if access to containers/trucks is required.

i) Before starting loading or unloading operations, as well as periodically during operations, supervisor is required to examine all lifting devices to ensure safe working conditions. All the defective devices have to be retired immediately.

j) Personnel in charge of operating cranes or other lifting machines shall by no means transport loads over people. Furthermore, before starting to maneuver, the operator shall make sure that all workers have moved a safe distance away and, if not, sound an alarm to indicate movement.

k) During loading and unloading operations, truck driver shall not remain in the truck cabin, but safely

away from the operations area.

l)

In all cases, CARGO shall be properly unsecured only when the truck is completely stopped in the unloading position.

BUYER recommends SELLER/LOADER to ensure that the corresponding checklist is prepared (refer to templates in ANNEX D.3.1-10651 and ANNEX D.3.2-10651), as a guideline to check CARGO condition before loading or offloading operations. Mentioned checklists should include checking of as minimum the following items: bottom dunnage, wooden strips, wooden wedges, lateral stakes, quantity of synthetic web belts, cargo shifting, driver’s documents, PPE, truck general condition, etc.
