1 GENERAL

1.1 PURPOSE The objective of this procedure is to define rules for the creation of metadata as part of the handover of Project Information to Company which is required for the operation and maintenance of the plant / facility throughout its entire operational life cycle.

1.2 SCOPE This procedure defines the metadata requirements and taxonomies for the project technical information deliverables.

This procedure shall be applied for the metadata provision of the technical information deliverables produced and / or modified for all project categories.

In the context of this procedure, “Information Deliverables” refers to Engineering Documents, Vendor Documents, Manufacturer Documents, Construction Documents and Fabrication Documents produced by Contractors, their Subcontractors, Vendors and Manufacturers.

1.3 CRITICALITY This Procedure has been determined to be a Medium Criticality document.

This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all possible risks and controls, but highlights the most common inherent risks and most basic controls which need to work to deliver the intended objective of the process.

1.6 COMPLIANCE All projects shall comply with the requirements as defined in this procedure for the effective handover of Project Information to Company.

Compliance with this procedure is verifiable by Company Technical Documentation section at any time during project execution.

1.7 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Roles and responsibilities related to this procedure are as defined in Section 1.6 of Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-006 (Project Information Handover).

2 METADATA Metadata is a set of data that describes and gives information about other data. Metadata contain information needed to understand and effectively use the data. In other words, it’s information that is used to describe the data that is contained in a document and / or file.

This section describes the detailed metadata requirements and taxonomies for the project technical information deliverables.

2.1 METADATA MATRIX AND REQUIREMENTS This section provides the matrix and describes the detailed Engineering Document Register (EDR) and Vendor Document Register (VDR) metadata requirements and taxonomies for the project technical information deliverables.

2.1.2

NUMBER

Number identifies the Document Number assigned to a document or drawing. For the assignment of Document Numbers, refer to Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-004 (Facilities Engineering and Vendor Document Numbering).

2.1.3

PART

Part is the main sheet number of the Document and consist of four (4) digits and shall be 0001 for all new technical information deliverables.

In the case of Drawings where a single Document consists of multiple sheets, refer to Section 2.4 of Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-004 (Facilities Engineering and Vendor Document Numbering) for related requirements. PDF file for multi-sheet documents shall be a single representation of the complete document and Native Files shall be combined together into a .ZIP file.

Note: only for Final Deliverables related to Document Type “BOK”, i.e. Fabrication Records Book (FRB), Manufacturing Records Book (MRB) and Ready for Commissioning / Ready for Start-up Dossier (CMD), Document can have one or more Parts. Part number shall start from 0001 and can continue up to Part number 9999.

2.1.4

REVISION

Revision is the number defining current version of the Document.

The first revision of a newly created deliverable Document by Contractor to be delivered to Company at final handover should be 50.

Any existing Document requested by Contractor “For Update” and submitted to Company at final handover should follow:

Revision number +1 to the Document issued to Contractor “For Update” where current

revision of the Document equals 50 or higher.

Revision number 50 where current revision of the Document issued to Contractor “For

Update” <50.

2.1.5 WORKING COPY NUMBER

Working Copy Number is the number generated by the system identifying Document is checked- out “For Update”.

Working Copy Number is generated upon the creation of a new Document Number or when an existing Document is checked-out.

Working Copy Number is a mandatory attribute for uploading Early and Final Deliverables into Company system.

TITLE

Title is the actual subject of the Document.

ISSUE DATE

Issue Date indicates the date when the applicable revision of the Document is issued.

The following date format shall be followed: DD-Mmm-YYYY.

DOCUMENT TYPE

Document Type identifies the type related to the Document

For Engineering Documents (Category = ENG) the Document Type should contain one of the values as defined in Appendix 3.

For Vendor Documents (Category = VEN) the Document Type should contain one of the values as defined in Appendix 4.

2.1.10 DOCUMENT SUBTYPE

Document SubType identifies the subtype related to the Document Type.

For Engineering Documents (Category = ENG) the Document SubType should contain one of the values as defined in Appendix 3 in relation to defined Document Type.

For Vendor Documents (Category = VEN) the Document Type should contain one of the values as defined in Appendix 4 in relation to defined Document Type.

2.1.11 DISCIPLINE

Discipline identifies the discipline code related to the Document and should contain one of the values as defined in Appendix 5, in line with Appendix 14 in Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-004 (Facilities Engineering and Vendor Document Numbering).

2.1.12 SUBDISCIPLINE

Sub Discipline identifies the sub discipline code related to the discipline of the Document and should contain one of the relationship values as defined in Appendix 5.

2.1.17 SYSTEM

System number code identifies the system to which a document or drawing belongs. For system numbers, refer to Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-005 (System Number and Unit Number Codes and Descriptions).

2.1.18 UNIT / WELLHEAD

Unit / Wellhead number code identifies the unit to which a document or drawing belongs. For Unit numbers refer to Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-005 (System Number and Unit Number Codes and Descriptions).

LINE NUMBER

Line Number identifies the line number(s) related to the Document and is mandatory to be populated only for Isometrics and P&IDs.

LOOP NUMBER

Loop Number identifies the loop number(s) related to the Document and is mandatory to be populated for Instrument Loop Diagrams only.

2.1.21 TAGS

Tags identifies the tag number(s) related to the Document.

2.1.22 BUILDINGS

Buildings identifies the building tag number(s) related to the Document and is mandatory to be populated for documents related to Buildings only. For existing building numbers, refer to building list as identified in the data dictionary IM-DD-T001.

2.1.23 CONTRACT / PROJECT CODE

Qatargas Contract Number as part of the Vendor Document Number as defined in Section 2.2.1 in Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-004 (Facilities Engineering and Vendor Document Numbering). Contract Number and is applicable to Vendor Documents only.

2.1.24 PO NUMBER

PO Number is the Purchase Order Number as part of the Vendor Document Number as defined in Section 2.2.2 in Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-004 (Facilities Engineering and Vendor Document Numbering). PO Number is applicable to Vendor Documents only.

2.1.25 VENDOR

Vendor identifies the Vendor and / or Manufacturer Name and is applicable to Vendor Documents only. In case the Manufacturer is not the same as the Vendor, Manufacturer Name shall be populated.

2.1.26 EXTERNAL REFERENCE NUMBER

External Reference Number for Engineering Documents identifies the Contractor internal Document Number and is optional to be populated.

External Reference Number for Vendor Documents identifies the Vendor internal Document Number and is mandatory to be populated.

2.1.27 NUMBER OF PAGES

Number of Pages identifies the total number of pages / sheets of the Document.

Additional metadata fields used to identify multiple relations of a document to a specific attribute are identified in the templates by [R]. Multiple values in these fields shall be separated by a semicolon “;” and no spaces shall be there in front and after the semicolon.

2.2 TAG NUMBER LINK-LEVEL Tag Numbers to be populated in the EDR and VDR are Line Numbers, Loop Numbers, Tags and Buildings as described in Section 2.1.19 to Section 2.1.22 and should be in compliance with Company Equipment Numbering Philosophy.

Detailed link-level requirements for Engineering Documents are defined in Template QG-PIH-IM- 03-T002 - Engineering IM Deliverables as part of Procedure PRJ-PJL-PRC-006 (Project Information Handover). All Vendor Documents shall be linked to relevant Tag Numbers.

2.3 ADDITION AND CHANGES Qatargas Head of Technical Documentation & Drafting Services shall approve any addition or change to the valid value entries before implementation.
