INTRODUCTION
Project Objective and Location
The ADNOC Ruwais LNG Project is developing a new two train, near net-zero electrically driven LNG facility, targeting international markets. The project is located on approximately 2 million square meters within the Ruwais Industrial Area.
1.2
Scope of the Document
This specification amends ADNOC Electrical Items on Packaged Equipment Specification AGES-SP-02-014 which is attached hereto in Appendix 1.
Section 4 of this document identifies the amendments to the ADNOC Electrical Items on Packaged Equipment Specification included in Appendix 1 for this ADNOC Ruwais LNG Project only.

Packaged equipment may be provided with LV motor starters and switchgear, provided all such equipment is located in an Electrical Room (e.g., E-house as part of the package skid) with controlled environment (active HVAC system) to protection against environmental conditions.
2.2.2 Clause 7.5 – Motor Starters

Package LV Motor control from ICSS shall be via Serial Link using Modbus TCP. ESD interface shall be hardwired. All interfaces shall be in accordance with Motor Control drawing RLNG-000-PR-PID-0041 to RLNG-000-PR-PID-0044.

This Specification has been approved by the ADNOC PT&CS is to be implemented by each ADNOC Group company included above subject to and in accordance with their Delegation of Authority and other governance-related processes in order to ensure compliance.
Each ADNOC Group company must establish/nominate a Technical Authority responsible for compliance
with this Specification.
DEFINITIONS
“ADNOC” means Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
“ADNOC Group” means ADNOC together with each company in which ADNOC, directly or indirectly, controls fifty percent (50%) or more of the share capital.
“Approving Authority” means the decision-making body or employee with the required authority to approve Policies & Procedures or any changes to it.
“Business Line Directorates” or “BLD” means a directorate of ADNOC which is responsible for one or more Group Companies reporting to, or operating within the same line of business as, such directorate.
“Business Support Directorates and Functions” or “Non- BLD” means all the ADNOC functions and the remaining directorates, which are not ADNOC Business Line Directorates.
“CEO” means chief executive officer.
“Group Company” means any company within the ADNOC Group other than ADNOC.
“Specification” means this Electrical Items on Packaged Equipment specification.

GENERAL
Introduction
This specification covers the minimum requirement for electrical equipment/items on packaged units supplied by equipment SUPPLIERS as part of packaged units, e.g., compressor equipment, special pump equipment, power generators, boilers, fired heaters, refrigeration units, air conditioning units, etc.
Electrical items for such packaged equipment may comprise of motors, stop start units, supply/distribution panels, electric heaters, AFDs, Electric Heat Tracing, Lighting, Earthing, JBs, Cables and Cable Trays etc.
This specification shall be read in conjunction with the appropriate electrical, mechanical equipment and
instrument specifications for the main equipment.
Compliance with the specification does not relieve the Supplier of the responsibility for supplying
equipment of proper design and construction, fully suitable for all specified operating conditions.
SUPPLIER shall conform fully to the requirements of this specification and shall provide adequate
performance and rating margins.
Purpose
The purpose of this specification is to specify the minimum requirements of the design, performance, materials, manufacturing, inspection, testing, documentation and preparation for shipment of Electrical Items on Packaged Equipment. The required scope of supply for the package is detailed in section 8 below.
General technical requirements of electrical equipment are covered in this specification. The Supplier shall be fully responsible for meeting General and Specific requirements of the Purchaser in respect of both materials and services.
For project and site specific additional requirements, refer to supplementary requirements stated in respective project’s Purchase Requisition documentation.
Definitions and Abbreviations
1.3.1
Definitions
The following defined terms are used throughout this specification.
‘[PSR]’ indicates a mandatory Process Safety Requirement
“COMPANY” means ADNOC, ADNOC Group or an ADNOC Group Company, and includes any agent or consultant authorized to act for, and on behalf of the COMPANY.
“CONTRACTOR” means the parties that carry out all or part of the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning or management for ADNOC projects. CONTRACTOR includes its approved MANUFACTURER(s), SUPPLIER(s), SUB-SUPPLIER(s) and SUB-CONTRACTOR(s).
“MANUFACTURER” means the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or MANUFACTURER of one or more of the component(s) which make up a sub-assembly or item of equipment assembled by the main SUPPLIER or his nominated SUB-SUPPLIER.

“SUB-CONTRACTOR” means any party engaged by the CONTRACTOR to undertake any assigned work on their behalf. COMPANY maintains the right to review all proposed SUB-CONTRACTORs; this right does not relieve the CONTRACTOR of their obligations under the Contract, nor does it create any contractual relationship between COMPANY and the SUB-CONTRACTOR.
“SUPPLIER” means the party entering into a Contract with COMPANY to provide the materials, equipment, supporting technical documents and/or drawings, guarantees, warranties and/or agreed services in accordance with the requirements of the purchase order and relevant specification(s). The term SUPPLIER includes any legally appointed successors and/or nominated representatives of the SUPPLIER.
“SUB-SUPPLIER” means the sub-contracted SUPPLIER of equipment sub-components software and/or support services relating to the equipment / package, or part thereof, to be provided by the SUPPLIER. It shall be the CONTRACTOR’s responsibility to be, or to become, knowledgeable of the requirements of the referenced Codes and Standards.
The CONTRACTOR shall notify the COMPANY of any apparent conflict between this specification, the related data sheets, the Codes and Standards and any other specifications noted herein.
Resolution and/or interpretation precedence shall be obtained from the COMPANY in writing before proceeding with the design/manufacture.

Deviations from this specification are only acceptable where the MANUFACTURER has listed in his quotation the requirements he cannot, or does not wish to comply with, and the COMPANY / CONTRACTOR has accepted in writing the deviations before the order is placed.
In the absence of a list of deviations, it will be assumed that the MANUFACTURER complies fully with this specification.
Any technical deviations to the Purchase Order and its attachments including, but not limited to, the Data Sheets and Narrative Specifications shall be sought by the MANUFACTURER only through Concession Request Format. Concession requests require CONTRACTOR’S and COMPANY’S review / approval, prior to the proposed technical changes being implemented. Technical changes implemented prior to COMPANY approval are subject to rejection.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS / MINIMUM DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
Design Basis
a. The Electrical Equipment Items and Systems shall have a minimum design life of 25 years when
operating within design parameters.
b. Transformers, if provided, shall be suitable for continuous operation at full rating under the service conditions specified for a minimum period of 40,000 hours without the need for planned maintenance requiring a unit shutdown. Refer to AGES-GL-02-001 Section 7.1 for general requirements for Transformers
c. HV Switchgear, if provided, shall be capable of continuous operation at full load for a minimum of 50,000 hours without the need for routine maintenance involving de-energisation of the switchgear. Refer to AGES-GL-02-001 Section 7.2 for general requirements for HV Switchgear.
d. LV Switchgear assembly shall be capable of continuous operation at full load for a minimum of 90,000 hours without the need for routine maintenance involving de-energisation of the main busbars and the distribution busbars. Functional units shall be designed for continuous operation at full load for at least 35,000 hours without maintenance, Refer to AGES-GL-02-001 Section 7.3 for general requirements for LV Switchgear.
e. ASDs shall have a minimum design life of 25 years when operating at rated conditions and maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. The expected lifetime of electronic components may be less than 25 years. The manufacturer shall list and state the expected lifetime of these components. The ASD shall be capable of continuous operation at full load for a minimum of 50,000 hours without the need for routine maintenance involving de-energisation of the ASD. Refer to AGES-SP-02-004 for requirements for Adjustable Speed Drive systems.
f. Motor and all accessories shall be in accordance with AGES-SP-02-002 and AGES-SP-02-007 and
shall :
i. Have a design life of at least 30 years at rated output under the service conditions specified and
maintained according to SUPPLIER’s recommendation.
ii. Be suitable for 6 years continuous uninterrupted operation.
g. Motor, Switchgear/Controlgear, Transformers, ASDs, assemblies, and components with less than 6
years proven operational service shall only be used if permitted by COMPANY.
h.
SUPPLIER shall provide all electrical equipment required for the package. The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for the design, rating, selection and sizing of all electrical equipment required for the package.
Obsolescence
The SUPPLIER shall submit a statement along with the bid, in accordance with IEC 62402, on any planned or predicted obsolescence of equipment or components over this design life and advise what provisions are made to allow ease of future upgrading of any equipment purchased.

SECTION B – TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

SUPPLIER shall furnish all material, equipment, cabling and electrical installation work, testing, and all other site services required to complete installation ready for operation. Equipment shall be installed per original equipment Manufacturer’s instruction.
The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for the design, rating, selection and sizing of all electrical equipment included in the scope of work in the package specification, in accordance with the relevant IEC Standards and respective Company standards listed in this document. Equipment sizing shall take into account design margins and guidance given in AGES-GL-02-001 Section 6.12.
The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for the selection and sizing of all power and earthing cables within the package boundary limits. Criteria and calculation basis for cable sizing shall be as per AGES-GL-02- 001 Sections 6.13 and 6.14.
The SUPPLIER’s responsibility includes producing design deliverables such as the selection basis, calculations, block diagrams, schematic/wiring diagrams, trouble shooting and interconnection drawing/schedules, cable schedules for the interconnection cabling, protection and earthing cables that are connected among the various equipment (such as ASDs, electric heaters, Local Isolators, main junction box, motor starters, motors, DBs, JBs, space heaters, electric heat tracing, LCS, lighting fixtures etc.) within the package.
6.1.5
All materials and parts comprising the equipment herein specified shall be new and unused, of current manufacture, of the highest grade and free from all defects and imperfections affecting performance.
6.1.6
All electrical equipment covered by this package shall be selected as per ADNOC standards and shall be oriented towards maximizing energy performance.
6.1.7
All equipment shall be the products of the companies which are regularly engaged in the manufacturing of such equipment and shall be of proven design and performances.
6.1.8
All electrical equipment shall be easily accessible, maintainable and overall design & construction shall facilitate pad-lockable isolation. Equipment access and working clearances shall be in accordance with AGES-GL-02-001 Section 8.6.
6.1.9
All equipment shall meet the requirements of this standard and listed codes/standards and shall be suitable for continuous operation at full load with the design conditions specified.
6.1.10
Installation shall satisfy all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements applicable at the installation site.

6.1.11 Equipment internal to packages shall be sized according to the package load summaries, safety level,
operations mode & environmental conditions as given in this or referenced document.
6.1.12 All equipment shall be robust, heavy duty industrial type suitable for onshore and offshore process
industry. Domestic/commercial type equipment shall not be acceptable.
6.1.13 The design of electrical equipment shall protect personnel against risk of shocks by all available means
of interlock, insulation, screens, partitions, enclosures and warning labels.
6.1.14 All Distribution Board/Local Panels, Lighting DBs for buildings/container/skid shall be provided with 10% Spare circuits. Refer to AGES-GL-02-01 Section 15.12 for general requirements for Distribution Boards.
6.1.15 Cable trays/ladders shall have minimum 10% spare capacity for future cable installation. In addition to spares, additional 10% unequipped space shall be provided in the DBs and terminal blocks. The control cables shall have minimum 10% spare cores.
6.1.16
If provided by SUPPLIER, UPS Systems (AC and DC) general requirements shall be as per AGES-GL- 02-001 Section 12.
6.1.17 Fire and Gas Detection systems if provided by SUPPLIER, shall be in accordance with AGES-PH-03-
6.1.18 The SUPPLIER shall provide at an early date any drawing and information needed for connection and co-ordination of his package with other equipment, as specified in the requisition, especially load requirements.
6.1.19 The SUPPLIER shall also provide information such as package electrical load list, package power requirement (at various voltage levels), I/O list in a reasonable time frame (after PO) to allow for detail design of electrical system.
6.1.20 Aluminium or its alloy shall not be used for enclosure or component. Any deviation to this (including for specific projects as agreed such as offshore) shall be duly highlighted by SUPPLIER and approval obtained from COMPANY before order placement.
6.1.21 Any copper item shall be of tinned and any brass item shall be nickel plated. Any deviation to this shall be duly highlighted by Supplier and approval obtained from COMPANY before order placement.
ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Electrical Supply
Available incoming power supply Voltages, Frequencies and Deviations which the package equipment shall be designed for are given in AGES-GL-02-001 Sections 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7:
Where equipment requires voltages other than the agreed incoming tie-in or supply voltages, the SUPPLIER shall provide suitable power conversion units within the equipment.
Refer to AGES-GL-02-001 Section 6.8 for additional requirements regarding System Power Factor.

Integration of the Package Unit in the Main Electrical Network
The SUPPLIER shall indicate all materials/equipment within the Package Unit that are likely to be responsible of electrical disturbances in the main electrical network.
The electrical disturbance can be:
Voltage depression.
Over voltage.
Wave disturbance such as harmonics.
Over currents.
Electromagnetic disturbances.
The SUPPLIER shall indicate the type and level of disturbance likely to occur and shall propose a corrective action in order to be in accordance with the IEC standards and Project specifications, whichever is more stringent.
Tolerances on Voltages and Frequency
Electrical equipment shall function satisfactorily during steady state fluctuation within +/- 10% of the stated voltage levels and at frequencies within +/- 5% of the stated frequency.
During starting or reacceleration of direct on-line motors, either singly or in a group, the voltage at the motor terminals shall not deviate by more than +10% or -20% from rated equipment voltage.
Transient voltage deviations occurring at switchgear bus bars during motor or group motor starting / reacceleration shall be such as to maintain a minimum of 90% voltage on switchgear bus bars, and at least 80% at motor terminals, but not more than 110% of rated equipment voltage on all other consumers.
Reference shall also be made to AGES-GL-02-001 section 6.6 for normal deviations in voltage and frequency which are considered in the design of the electrical supply system. The package equipment is expected to be able to operate satisfactorily outside of these system limits as per the above requirements.
Motors
All Motors shall be in accordance with AGES-GL-02-001 section 13 and the referenced specifications AGES-SP- 02-002 & AGES-SP-02-007 for induction and synchronous motors.
Motors shall be IEC frame size provided with class F Insulation with temperatures rise limited to Class B limit at 54°C ambient, and degree of protection IP55 or IP65 (as specified in the material requisition/data sheet). Service factor shall be 1.0 minimum or as required by the process duty in the package application.
Motors used with variable speed drives shall be rated for that purpose and conform to AGES-SP-02-004 (Electrical Adjustable Variable Speed Drive System).
Motor de-rating factor shall be in line with AGES-SP-02-002 and AGES-SP-02-007 for ambient temperature requirements..
Unless specified otherwise, all motors shall be suitable for direct on-line starting as per AGES-GL-02-001 Section 6.9.4.
The main supply cable to motors will be laid and terminated directly into the motor terminal box by Purchaser.
Skid/package cable trays and covers shall be supplied and installed by SUPPPLIER so as to allow cables installation to motors, heaters, MOV’s by others. Cable trays and bulk material shall be as per AGES-SP-02-019.

Motor Starters
Motor Starters for HV motors shall be installed in a substation remote from the Package unit (except for Fire Fighting Pumps Motor Controllers). This Switchgear and Controlgear shall be provided in accordance with AGES- SP-02-003 and AGES-SP-02-006 for HV and LV Switchgear/Controlgear respectively.
The package supplier shall be responsible for the rating and functional characteristics of the motors to match the driven unit. Motor controllers/DOL Starter/Soft Starter (if required) as a part of package distribution board shall be in accordance with Specification for Low Voltage Switchgear AGES-SP-02-006.
Motor Starters for 415V-AC and 240V-AC motors (except for fire fighting jockey pump motor controllers and skid mounted starters for items such as local HVAC) shall be installed in a substation remote from the Package Unit. The use of local package starters shall only be with prior approval from COMPANY.
All items on the “ Packaged Equipment” i.e., ammeters, push buttons, emergency stop buttons, selector switches, and any auxiliary devices controlling motors shall be provided by SUPPLIER and those devices shall be from approved suppliers.
All items shall be suitable for the Area Classification zone in which they are located and in accordance with the requirements of Section 5.2 of AGES-GL-02-001.
Any package equipment Electrical Control Panels provided which incorporate motor starters or distribution feeders for package loads shall have the facility to be able to isolate independently, all outgoing circuits/supplies with a multidiscipline lockout/tagout provision.
Electrical Control Panels
Electrical control panels may be provided “on-skid” as part of the main Package of suitable for remote mounting either indoors or outdoors as specified in the Material Requisition. In normal practice, the control panel will not include motor Starters/Controlgear as this will be provided by CONTRACTOR in the Local Substation.
The enclosure for indoor control panel shall be made up of sheet steel & shall be rated IP42 unless indicated otherwise in the data sheet. The enclosure shall be single or double door as required. The main body of enclosure shall be manufactured from minimum 2mm thick steel and the mounting straps from minimum 3mm thick plate.
The control panel enclosure for outdoor shall be epoxy coated 316L stainless steel painted or UV protected GRP as per Company standards for outdoor installation, IP65 classification shall be provided for outdoor control panel. The outdoor control panel shall be provided with 240Va.c. ACH, thermostat & hygrostat. Suitable sunshade/canopy shall be provided for the control panel. For Hazardous Areas where Ex’d’ equipment is proposed, Cast Iron Enclosures are also acceptable.
The enclosure shall be provided with silicone gasket. The hinges shall be heavy duty type to support the door when opened.
Earthing shall be accomplished by means of an external/internal earth stud, which can be connected to the terminal mounting rail or compound mounting plate.
Wiring inside the control panel shall be segregated between different voltages, AC & DC wiring, intrinsically safe, ESD wiring shall be terminated on separate terminal blocks.
Components or terminal blocks used for terminating circuits of higher than 240 volts shall have adequate spacing for proper dielectric between phases. Power and control voltages shall be segregated on separate terminal blocks.
All wiring external to enclosure shall be terminated within the enclosure to terminal blocks with tubular screw and pressure plate terminals, sized to the current carrying requirements of the conductor (2.5mm2 minimum fo Power, 1.5mm2 for Instrumentation). Splicing of power or control circuits is not permitted.

All wiring shall be suitably sized for the service intended (all internal wiring shall be flame retardant as per IEC 60332) and each end of each conductor shall be permanently tagged in accordance with the elementary and wiring diagrams. Cross-referencing for ferrules shall be captured in interconnection diagram. Sleeve type wire marker shall be provided on all wires. Adhesive tape type markers shall not be permitted.
Control and alarm circuits, if required, shall be designed to be fail safe, that is, open-circuiting of one wire, short- circuiting of one wire or failure of a component shall not cause machinery to start up. Failures shall trip an overload element or render equipment inoperative and/or sound an alarm.
10% spare space within the panel and 10% spare terminal blocks and relays shall be provided.
Removeable Gland plates shall be supplied for incoming cables.
Suitable circuit protection shall be supplied for controls so that any one electrical fault does not affect more than one unit or system. The protection can be accomplished by either circuit breaker or fuse.
All systems which can operate independently (such as redundant or spare systems, etc.) shall have completely independent control devices and/or control systems. A disconnecting means shall be provided to isolate each system or component for maintenance. Alarm switches and shutdown switches shall be independent.
Pushbuttons, selector switches, ammeter and control stations shall be of heavy-duty, oil-tight construction in dry operating areas, suitable construction in wet operating and outdoor areas or hazardous areas. Selection of hazardous area equipment shall be in line with clause 5.2 of AGES-SP-02-002 and bulk materials supplied shall be as per AGES-SP-02-019.
Devices with hermetically-sealed contacts may be used in hazardous areas. When indicating lights are required, they shall be of heavy-duty, LED construction (with lamp test facility). Pilot light colour shall be suitable for the service for which the light is required. In general, for motors, red shall indicate “RUN” and green shall indicate “STOP”.
Emergency shutdown switches of devices shall require “Two-Action movement (push and turn, covered pushbutton, etc.). ESD switches shall be provided with protection cover.
All electrical control equipment (except remote items such as thermostats, limit switches, etc.) shall be combined in one control panel. The control panel shall be mounted on or built into the equipment. If the panel is too large to mount on the equipment, a larger panel shall be supplied for separate mounting by the Purchaser and shall be suitable wall or floor mounting, depending on size.
The control panel shall be equipped with hygrostat along with anti-condensation space heater with thermostat prewired to a terminal block. Hygrostat shall inhibit circuit breaker operation in case of humidity is detected inside the panel. The heater shall be supplied from an external 240V, 50Hz (or as specified in data sheet) single-phase supply and terminated in a separate terminal box fitted with a gland plate and warning label or internally derived by the SUPPLIER. Heater shall be supplied complete with ON/OFF switch and controlled by thermostat. Anti- condensation heaters shall be fitted with touch protection guard. In case the DB is multi enclosure type, then space heater with thermostat and MCB+RCD breaker shall be provided in all the enclosures. Loop-in loop-out type wiring shall be provided accordingly. Furthermore, mechanical hygrostat shall be placed in each Ex’d’ enclosure, where the mechanical hygrostat will generate an alarm and generate close inhibit.
A cubicle illumination light shall be mounted inside the control panel. The light shall come on automatically when the panel door(s) are opened.
A means of isolation shall be provided for each incoming supply to the panel and sub-circuit miniature circuit breaker (MCB) shall be provided where necessary. Four pole isolation shall be provided for 3 phase circuits and two pole isolation shall be provided for single phase & DC circuits.

Local Control Stations (LCS) for Motors
Unless otherwise included in local control panel (by SUPPLIER), separate local motor control stations (LCS) as per AGES-GL-02-001 Section 13.6, shall be provided by the SUPPLIER. These local control stations shall be supplied and installed near each motor by the SUPPLIER (unless otherwise stated in Requisition) and shall be from an approved supplier and in line with AGES-SP-02-019. Any additional requirements for standardisation across the project shall be indicated in the material requisition or data sheets.
LCS shall include Start / Stop push buttons, Local / Off / Remote or Local / Remote selection switches, emergency stop stay-put / lockable push button, ammeter, indicating lamps, etc., as required. LCS Local / Off / Remote and Local / Remote switch shall be lockable type in each position.
The local control stations shall be installed on suitable steel supports near the respective pump/skids. The motor tag number and description shall be clearly identified close to the start/stop button. The contact block shall be hermetically sealed individually explosion protected single pole units with 1 NO or 1NC spare contacts as a minimum. The location should be such that it would not hinder access for normal maintenance and would not be liable to impact damage and also should not be located in direct line-of-site of Motor Power terminal Box cover in case of short circuit fault in terminal box.
The enclosure shall be suitable for area classification requirements and design conditions. Local control stations, where exposed to rain and sun, shall be provided with canopies as per AGES-SP-02-019.
Earthing
Earthing and Bonding shall be provided in the Package and for any remote mounted equipment in accordance with AGES-GL-02-001 Section 16.
All electrical equipment shall be provided with a suitable earthing terminal stud (M10) complete with nut and washer.
Two Earthing Bosses shall be welded at diagonally opposite corners of any package unit (Skid). An earth loop of 70 mm2 insulated cable shall be run on the skid and connected to the two earth bosses.
All skid mounted consumers and equipment shall be earthed by connecting it to this earth loop. The cross-sectional area of these protective conductors shall comply with the minimum requirements determined by methods given in clause 543.1 of IEC 60364-5-54. and as given in the ADNOC standard earthing philosophy diagram attached to AGES-PH-02-001.
All exposed non-current carrying metallic parts of electrical equipment, cable trays, vessels, armour/metallic screen of cable and the neutral conductor of wiring systems shall be earthed by connecting it to the earth loop.
The frames or cases of all electrical equipment/components as well as motors, vessels, tanks, and structural parts shall be bonded to the earth loop on the skid if they are not electrically bonded or attached to the skid structure by means of fusion welding.
Electrical equipment shall be earthed at two points. Earthing and Bonding cables shall be protected from mechanical and chemical damage and shall be provided with PVC yellow/green insulation or with green insulation and a yellow tracer.
Instrument control wiring shields are to be grounded at the control panel only. Earthing conductors shall be installed in conduit where they extend over one foot above floor. The grounding conductor shall terminate in approved grounding fittings. The grounding conductor shall be of copper.

Lighting
Lighting on the package/skid shall be provided by SUPPLIER where requested in the material requisition. Typically lighting will be required to be supplied for large or major packages such as modules and where buildings or shelters are provided as part of the package.
Lighting systems to be provided may include normal/general area, task, specialised (e.g. aircraft warning) and emergency/escape lighting. The lighting equipment shall be in accordance with the Specification for Electrical Bulk Materials AGES-SP-02-019.
Lighting type shall be LED and lux levels required to be achieved shall be as per AGES-GL-02-001 Section 15.
Lighting fixtures shall be solidly fixed and not suspended by means of chains or conduits etc. They shall be mounted such that routine maintenance can be carried out safely and without the use of temporary scaffolding.
Lighting shall be suitable for the area classification in which the skid is located. A sufficient number of fixtures shall be provided in order to provide the required lux level.
Types of Enclosures and Accessibility for Maintenance
Electrical equipment located in the open shall be of weatherproof and dustproof construction equal to or better than IP 55 Onshore / IP56 Offshore, as defined in IEC 60947-1 / IEC 60529.
Enclosure entries for electrical/instrument cables shall be threaded ISO metric. Thread pitch shall be 1.5 mm. In cases where enclosures are threaded other than metric (e.g., NPT, PG, etc.), classified thread adapters shall be supplied by packaged equipment SUPPLIER. Top entries are not acceptable.
Indoor equipment shall be of a construction equal to or better than IP41, except for lighting fixtures and areas which are not environmentally controlled which shall be a minimum of IP 51.
Exposed parts within the assemblies which have to be accessible during normal operating and maintenance shall either not be alive in the opened position or shall be protected to a degree of protection of at least IP 20.
Electrical items on the packaged equipment shall be so arranged as to provide adequate clearances for servicing the equipment.
Equipment shall be arranged so that they can be removed from package without having to disassemble any nearby structure / Instrument / Cable trays / Panels etc.
Layout of equipment with their accessories on the package shall have an aesthetically good appearance.
Circuit Protective Devices
For circuit protection provided in Electrical Control Panels, MCB’s of at least 9 kA breaking capacity shall be provided. Higher breaker interrupting capacity MCB’s, if required, will be indicated in the equipment data sheets.
High Breaking Capacity (HBC) fuse links can be used for control transformer protection.
Cable and Wiring Methods
7.12.1 General Requirements
All electrical interconnections between equipment mounted on the package shall be carried out by the Supplier, and shall be fully in accordance with AGES-GL-02-001 Section 14 and all applicable regulations and standards.

The approved wiring method for outdoor installations routed outside of junction boxes and panels shall be galvanized steel armour or wire braid cable to provide mechanical protection. 4 mm² and smaller cables may use galvanized steel wire braid armour where additional flexibility is required.
Covers shall be of same material and property of cable trays. Individual cables may be routed on and supported by epoxy painted steel channel or skid structure.
Cables are to be routed as to not become an attractive ladder to gain access to equipment. For runs of two cables or less, stainless steel studs welded every 460mm may be used to support the cable in lieu of tray or skid channel.
Cables passing through rooms/floor shall be sleeved 300mm on both sides away from the floor or passing through MCT as required. Cables shall enter enclosures from bottom only, unless specified otherwise.
Cable entries into enclosures shall be from below wherever possible. Top entries of cable are not acceptable. Side entry cables shall be installed with drip loops.
Wiring shall be continuous without splices from terminal to terminal. Conductors with damaged or repaired insulation shall not be used.
Instrument and power circuits of different power levels shall be installed with proper spacing to avoid interference and to ensure proper operation. Refer to AGES-GL-02-001 Section 14.3.3 l. for minimum spacings between signal and power cables run along the same route above ground.
Where intersection between groups is unavoidable, the routing shall be such that the signal/electronic cables shall cross the power cables at right angles, with a vertical distance of 300mm as minimum.
7.12.2 Cable
Power, Control and Earthing, cables shall be as per COMPANY Specification AGES-SP-02-011.
Fire resistant cables in accordance with IEC 60331-21 shall be used for following cases. All other cables shall be flame retardant as per IEC 60332-3 Cat A.
Fire and Gas Systems.
Telecommunications system cables.
Essential lighting including standby, exit and escape lighting.
ESD system.
Navigational Aids.
The minimum conductor cross-sectional area sizes for various applications shall be as follows:
Minimum power and CT wiring 4 mm2.
Minimum lighting and control wiring 2.5 mm2.
All electrical power and control cables shall have the conductor cores identified as stated in the Cable Specification AGES-SP-02-011 which follows the Electricity Wiring Regulations UAE 2014-Part 2. Within Panels, 110V DC cables shall be identified by use of a Grey core sheath.
Phase tape may be acceptable subject to Company approval for identification under special circumstances where standard cable is not available to meet the specified colour sequence.
The colour of the outer sheathing shall be black for LV cables (excluding fire resistant type), unless approved otherwise. Refer to AGES-GL-02-001 Section 14.2 and AGES-SP-02-011 for further requirements for cable sheath and core colours.

All cables shall be tagged enabling cable identification at the following locations:
Each cable end.
When branching from the main cable route and changes in direction.
At Terminal boxes.
Each side of Cable transits
At every 25 meters distance along the cable route above ground and every 5m below ground.
Cable tags shall be provided in accordance with AGES-GL-02-001 Section 14.3.5. In side panels and switchboards computer printed core markers, durably secured are permissible.
A 316L stainless steel label consisting of cable size, number of cores, and number of runs, current rating and destination shall be fixed to the cable compartment of the switchgear to know the cable size without opening the cable compartment. (Applicable only for HV & LV power cables).
Junction Boxes
All Junction Boxes to be provided as part of the package shall be in line with AGES-GL-02-001 Section 15.13 and AGES-SP-02-019 and shall be high impact resistant, flame retardant, ultraviolet resistant, glass reinforced polyester suitable for the area classification. The degree of protection of the junction boxes shall be at least IP 66 using closed cell neoprene gaskets with detachable lid and stainless steel captive screws. Stainless steel threaded gland plate shall be provided for cable entries.
Junction Boxes shall be suitable for Zone 1, Gas Group II, Temperature Class T6 for standardisation across site unless otherwise directed by the Material Requisition or Datasheet.
Instrument and power wiring or cabling, with the exception of power supply to electric motors, shall be connected to terminal strips installed in terminal boxes. Instrument signals and wiring or cabling with different voltages shall be connected to separate terminal boxes. The terminal boxes shall be shown on the layout drawings.
Cable Glands
Cable glands shall be supplied and installed as a part of the package and shall be in accordance with AGES-GL- 02-001 Section 14.3.6 and AGES-SP-02-019. They shall be of brass double Compression type, ISO Metric thread, complete with earth tag, lock nut, IP sealing washer and UV protected PVC shroud.
Nameplates
Electrical equipment shall be provided with engraved identification name plates/tag plates. Name plates shall be in line with the requirements of Bulk material specification AGES-SP-02-019. Unless specified elsewhere, the language used for name plates/tag plates shall be English.
Nameplates/tag plates shall be of Traffolyte (white-black-white) with black lettering on white background on panels and or be of stainless steel with black in-fill for main nameplate and on rotating equipment.
A warning label, white letters on red background, shall comply with IEC 60417 and ISO 3864 and be provided on each compartment in which an external voltage source is terminated. This label shall read “Caution - this unit contains an external voltage source which must be isolated elsewhere,” in Arabic and English.
All name plates, tag plates and labels shall be fixed by self-tapping stainless steel screws or pop rivets.

Socket Outlets
For large packages, provide maintenance type socket outlets if required. This requirement shall be assessed on the basis of maintenance tools with 25m extension leads.
Socket Outlets shall comply with the requirements of AGES-GL-02-001 Section 15.10 and AGES-SP-02-019.
The SUPPLIER shall supply and test all required power outlets, conduit, trunking and accessories to form a complete power installation.
Bulk Electrical Materials
All Bulk Electrical Materials supplied as part of the package shall be in accordance with AGES-SP-02-019.
All components shall be tropicalized of anti-corrosive material or painted with suitable anti-corrosive paint, outdoor type with degree of ingress protection IP65, UV resistant material wherever exposed to sunlight.
Cable trays for Onshore Installations shall be heavy gauge, hot-dip galvanized after fabrication and painted with one coat of primer and two coats of finishing paint. and shall be provided with ventilated covers which shall be exposed directly to sunlight.
Cable Trays for offshore shall be Flame retardant Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) or ANSI - 316L Stainless Steel with epoxy coating. The installation shall be complete with all fittings to form a continuous cable route with anti-static paint & UV protection. Cable Trays offshore shall be provided with non-ventilated covers for cable protection.
Cable tray shall not be supported from, or affixed to, process pipes, vessels, equipment or other cable trays.
For straight sections, the support span shall not be greater than the straight section length for the purpose of ensuring that no more than one splice joint is located between supports. Under no circumstances shall tray supports be installed more than 3 meters apart.
Individual cables from the main cable tray to individual skid mounted equipment shall be routed in cable channel of not less than 100mm width.
Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD)
All ASDs shall conform to specification AGES-SP-02-004 and its relevant IEC standards.
The VSDS shall be capable of withstanding the thermal and dynamic stresses and the transient mechanical torques such as those resulting from a short circuit. Any damage resulting from such a short circuit or internal fault shall be confined to the component concerned. The motor/driven equipment shall be capable of withstanding the transient torques developed during short circuit conditions.
The degree of protection of equipment located indoors should be at least IP 41 without considering floor as a part of the enclosure.
Package Power Distribution Boards
If required, an LV Distribution Board (DB) shall be provided by the Supplier for miscellaneous power as required for the package. The distribution board shall be designed and constructed in accordance with Specification AGES- SP-02-020.

Package Layout Guidelines
The design of the package shall take into account the maintenance factors of the package equipment such as easy access, removability of parts and components and adequate access for cabling and routing. The isolation of parts of the system shall be given adequate consideration.
Electrical equipment, panels, control stations, junction boxes, fittings, etc. shall be unobstructed by other installed equipment and shall be accessible for maintenance.
As a minimum, working clearance shall be 750mm in front of control panels. Control panels shall be located to permit control panel doors to open 120 degrees. In general, all items requiring external cable connection shall be located on the perimeter of the package skid. Exceptions may be allowed where a direct connection to the equipment within the package is more convenient for installation and maintenance.
Motors shall not be mounted such that airflow is obstructed or hot air discharge from one motor is directed into the air intake of another. At least 600mm clearance shall be maintained at the fan end of motors to ensure proper airflow and cooling.
All terminal blocks and devices in junction boxes or enclosures shall be identified by markings according to the drawings and shall be conveniently located and accessible without disturbing installed wiring or devices. All junction boxes or enclosures shall be externally identified. All external nameplates and labels shall be made of stainless steel and fixed to the equipment securely by screws. Internal Labels shall be made from traffolyte.

SECTION C – OTHER REQUIREMENTS
DETAILS OF SCOPE SUPPLY
General
The SUPPLIER Scope of Work shall include, but shall not be limited to, design, manufacture, inspection, acceptance testing in the Suppliers workshop, preparation for shipment, custom clearance, delivery, unloading, installation, testing of the Electrical Equipment, Materials and accessories on site, commissioning and start-up assistance at site, spare parts, special tools and supply of documentation, manuals and other services complete in every respect even if not all works and all required material is expressly mentioned in this specification.
SUPPLIER’S Responsibility
The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for the supplied equipment in every respect including design, selection of materials and components, manufacturing and testing.
The SUPPLIER’s responsibility shall extend to his SUB-SUPPLIERS, if any.
The SUPPLIER shall be responsible for the production of all drawings and all documents related to the electrical equipment and associated materials.
It shall be the SUPPLIER’s responsibility to furnish all items essential for the safe and satisfactory operation of the equipment.
The make and Country of Origin of all electrical equipment shall be per approved Supplier list.
Limit of Supply
In general, power supplies 415V, 3Phase, 4Wire, 50Hz (except for motor feeders) will be made available as only one (or dual) nominal feeder(s) up to an agreed Package Unit interface point. Any other intermediate voltage, if required, shall be derived by the package SUPPLIER.
Any additional requirements for secure supplies such as Emergency Generator backed-up (essential but interrupted) or Uninterruptible (Critical UPS/Battery backed-up) are to be identified by SUPPLER and justification provided for the need for secure power supplies. In general, the package shall be designed for operation and safe shutdown from a normal quality industrial power supply which may infrequently suffer complete power outages.
The same principle will apply to the control cable intended for remote indication, interlock, intertrip, i.e., control cable shall be terminated at one interface point only.
All the connections of the equipment, sensors, push buttons, etc., shall be wired up to the interface point by the SUPPLIER.
The interface shall include but not be limited to:
Main power supply feeders including power supplies from Purchasers Switchgear/MCCs to Motors, etc.
Control, signalling, interlock, intertrip.
Lighting.
Space heaters / anti-condensation heaters.
Earthing.

Lightning protection.
All the electrical material, equipment and accessories within the Package Unit shall be supplied, installed, wired, configured and tested by the SUPPLIER.
All internal cabling, lighting and earthing on the Packaged Unit shall be provided by the SUPPLIER.
The motor starters / controllers for all motors within Package Unit shall be provided by the CONTRACTOR, unless otherwise specified. The switchgear containing the motor starters will be located in the electrical substation remote from the Packaged Unit.
The power cables to motors shall be able to terminate directly on the motor terminal boxes and the control cables shall be able to terminate directly on Local Control Station (LCS) unless otherwise noted on drawings. The SUPPLIER shall provide required provision to receive and support all Power and Control Cables. The Power and Control Cables from switchgear to motor terminal boxes and LCS shall be provided by the CONTRACTOR.
QUALITY CONTROL AND ASSURANCE
Equipment shall only be purchased from SUPPLIERS approved by ADNOC Category Management. This approval indicates that the SUPPLIER has an approved Quality management system and a proven track record in supply of this type of equipment.
SUB-CONTRACTORS, SUB-SUPPLERS
The SUPPLIER shall assume unit responsibility and overall guarantee for the equipment package and associated equipment.
The SUPPLIER shall transmit all relevant purchase order documents including specifications to his SUB- SUPPLIERS and Sub-Contractors.
It is the SUPPLIER’S responsibility to enforce all purchase order and specification requirements on his SUB- SUPPLIERS and Sub-Contractors.
The SUPPLIER shall submit all relevant SUB-SUPPLIER and Sub-Contractor drawings and engineering data to the CONTRACTOR.
The SUPPLIER shall obtain and transmit all SUB-SUPPLIER’S and Sub-Contractor warranties to the CONTRACTOR/COMPANY, in addition to the system warranty.
MATERIAL CERTIFICATION
Not Applicable
INSPECTION AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS
General
Before leaving the SUPPLIER’S works, each item of equipment shall be inspected and tested in accordance with the relevant IEC Standards as listed in Section A of this specification. Tests as per IEC standards shall include, but not be limited to, routine tests, load tests, performance tests, special tests (e.g., string tests if specified in material requisition) and type tests (where relevant type test certificates are not already available).
The SUPPLIER shall provide an Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP) at least 8 weeks’ notice prior to the testing date.

The ITP shall be submitted for review and acceptance by the COMPANY and include Witness and Hold points in the programme for SUPPLIER, CONTRACTOR, and the COMPANY.
The COMPANY/CONTRACTOR or his nominee shall inspect the equipment and witness the required tests indicated in the Requisition at the time the equipment is offered for final inspection.
A detailed test procedure of factory tests shall be submitted at least 3 months in advance of any testing, detailing the proposed inspection, testing and witness testing programme throughout the design and build of the equipment.
Test certificates for each item of equipment shall be submitted prior to delivery for COMPANY acceptance.
Test Reports
Test reports in accordance with the relevant IEC standards including the following shall be submitted to COMPANY.
The design values
The tolerance values
The real values as measured, including, if any, the intermediate values causing provisional refusal.
SUPPLIER shall compile the records of all inspections and tests including routine tests and special tests in one document and shall submit as part of technical documentation.
Type Tests
SUPPLIER shall submit the type test certificates for each item of equipment for tests as required in the applicable IEC standards
Type test certificates shall be submitted with the bid.
Test certificates shall be from an internationally recognised, independent testing authority, and shall be subject to COMPANY acceptance.
Routine Tests
The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) shall include, but not be limited to the following:
Physical and dimensional check.
Compliance to standards and specifications.
Check equipment type and rating of components, (fuses relays, etc.).
Insulation resistance test for motors, control panels and wiring.
Earth continuity test.
Installation of equipment checking as well as cabling, wiring and accessibility.
Satisfactory functional operation of all control circuits, control panel etc.
Motor tests in accordance with project specification.
Additional Routine tests as required by the applicable IEC and COMPANY standard for each equipment
item.

SPARE PARTS
The SUPPLIER shall propose:
i. A list of commissioning spare parts
ii. A list of 2 years operation spare parts
iii. A list of special tools required for erection, commissioning and maintenance
Special tools required for erection, commissioning and maintenance shall be shipped together with the
Package Equipment and associated electrical items.
Each spare part shall be separately packed and clearly identified for storage management.
PAINTING, PRESERVATION AND SHIPMENT
Painting
Surface preparation and painting shall be in accordance with the COMPANY standard AGES-SP-07-004.
Alternatively, SUPPLIER may propose the standard for enhanced protection against corrosion in outdoor climates. The paint system applied shall provide adequate protection against the adverse effects of the climatic conditions specified. Full details of SUPPLIER’S painting specification shall be provided with the proposal for COMPANY approval.
The equipment shall be fully tropicalized.
Colour shade for all equipment shall be as per the relevant colour table for the COMPANY operating group as per the appendices of AGES-SP-07-004.
Corrosion classification shall be:
C5-I corrosion classification (ISO 12944) for onshore facilities.
C5-M corrosion classification (ISO 12944) for offshore facilities.
Preservation and Shipment
Manufacturer’s standard packing shall be acceptable unless otherwise stated in the COMPANY’s preservation and export packing procedure and on data sheet. Installation of impact recorders on individual packing boxes and containers shall be included.
COMMISSIONING
SUPPLIER shall provide detailed pre-commissioning and commissioning instructions in the manuals and data books provided as part of the purchase order documentation. DOCUMENTATION / MANUFACTURER DATA RECORDS
General
SUPPLIER shall submit the type and number of drawings and documentation for CONTRACTOR’S authorization or information as listed in the Material Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
Schedule of documents and data submittal shall be as agreed in the purchase order.
Comments made by CONTRACTOR on drawing submittal shall not relieve the SUPPLIER of any responsibility in meeting the requirements of the specifications. Such comments shall not be construed as permission to deviate from requirements of the Purchase Order unless specific and mutual agreement is confirmed in writing.
Each drawing shall be provided with a block in the bottom right-hand corner incorporating the following information:
Official trade name of the SUPPLIER.
SUPPLIER’S drawing number.
Drawing title giving the description of contents whereby the drawing can be identified.
A symbol or letter indicating the latest issue or revision.
Purchase order number and item tag numbers.
Revisions:
Document and drawing revisions shall be identified with symbols adjacent to the alterations.
A brief description of each revision shall be given in tabular form.
If applicable, the authority and date of the revision shall be listed. The term “Latest Revision” shall not be used.
All documents shall show the relevant order number, item tag numbers and SUPPLIER’S references and shall be distributed as specified in the purchase order documents.
Graphic symbols for electrical diagrams shall be according to IEC 60617-DB. Device code numbers shall be as per ANSI C-37.2 -1996.
All documents and drawings shall be in English.
Installation, operating and maintenance manuals shall be arranged as follows:
The front cover, spine and inside page shall state the purchase order number and SUPPLIER’S reference
number.
The inside front page shall carry an index listing the contents of each section of the manual.
Individual sections shall be completed and shall refer to the equipment actually supplied.
Published data shall also be included, including published data for bought-in items.
Full detail for installation setting up shall be included.
Recommended test data shall be stated, covering initial and also regular testing shall be given. For
example high voltage AC or DC test values.
Items requiring regular inspection, checking, testing and maintenance shall be listed and the time scale clearly indicated.
Important items shall be cross referenced to other part of the manual as necessary.
