General Notes

Environmental Conditions are defined in Project Basis of Design (Doc. No. RLNG-000-PM-BOD-2002). The design of all the outdoor equipment shall address the below normal operating conditions, in particular • High UV radiation levels • High ambient temperature • Marine and Saliferous environment • Dust and sand environment • High humidity and corrosive environment. The requirements of these conditions shall be fully compensated for, both in the design and in the construction materials of equipment. All equipment with associated accessories shall be designed for a period of 30 years in line with Project Basis of Design (Doc. No. RLNG-000-PM-BOD-2002) when maintained in accordance with manuals supplied by the VENDOR.

Each Safety Shower & Eye Wash Unit shall be provided with a dedicated overhead tank, which will be fed from plant potable water supply header.

Safety Shower & Eye Wash Units are placed in the areas which are exposed to direct sunlight. Hence, Safety shower and eye wash unit should be insulated and require a cabinet.

Safety Shower & Eye Wash Unit shall be fitted with a flow switch which is activated when the shower is being used and will raise an alarm in the control room.

Safety Shower & Eye Wash Unit shall be designed in such a way that it shall be possible to operate both Safety Shower and Eye Wash at the same time.

Both Safety shower and Eye wash must be designed such that once opened, the valves remain open without the continuous pressure or action from the operator until intentionally closed.

Painting shall be performed in accordance with ‘Project Specification for Protective Coating of Equipment, Piping & Structures’ (Doc. No. RLNG-000-PT-SP-0001). Supply water filling rate for a unit shall not exceed 10 m3/h, otherwise a restriction orifice shall be supplied by the Vendor to limit the flow.

Operating Instructions (with pictogram) shall be provided in Arabic & English.

Manufacturer’s test certificates/compliance certificate shall be furnished by the Vendor.

Vendor shall submit manufacturing, test, inspection, and welding procedures for CONTRACTOR’s approval prior to manufacturing.

The use of refurbished and re-use of metallic materials is prohibited.

Vendor shall perform Tests and / or inspections under the Vendor’s own quality control. The Quality plan and Inspection and Test Plan shall be submitted to CONTRACTOR for review.

Any deviation from the requirements mentioned in this specification shall be duly informed and shall be approved by CONTRACTOR/ COMPANY.
